Revival Sideling Hill Christian Church, 10424 Sipes Mill Road, Needmore, will hold revival services October 25-28 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Delmas Bard as speaker. All are welcome.

Evening Of Music An evening of music with Jesse Topper will be held Sunday, October 28, at 6:30 p.m., at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Jesse Topper is the director of music at Bedford United Methodist Church. The community is inivited to attend, with no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be taken. Knobsville United Methodist Church is located on Waterfall Road.

Fall Harvest Outreach Rehoboth New Life will host a Fall Harvest Outreach and five-year anniversary Saturday, November 3, beginning at 3 p/m. RNL’s child outreach team will be hosting crafts, games and storytime for the children. RNL’s adult outreach team will be hosting a pulled pork barbecue meal and prayer tent for the adults. There will also be a hayride at the conclusion of the event, weather permitting. Come and celebrate RNL’s five-year anniversary. Appreciation Service A service of appreciation will be held for Pastor Betty Secrest at a combined worship service at Center United Methodist Church with Clear Ridge United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. October 28. All are welcome. Covered dish meal inthe adjoining community building at noon.

River Oaks Helpline A Christian crisis counseling/prayer phone line is now available. Caring and compassionate Christian volunteers are available from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily to listen, pray with you and help to find solutions for the challenges you are facing. Bible Conference Knobsville Church of the Brethren will hold a Bible conference November 11-14, led by Pastor Fred Thomson of Easley, S.C. The conference is entitled “The Joy Robbers: A Study in Philippians.” Conference will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and evenings at 7 p.m. All are invited. RECREATION

Cody Trail Benefit A Cody Trail Community benefit dance will be this Saturday, October 27, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., in the alumni commnity gym. Cody is a junior at McConnellsburg High School and is fighting a very rare colon cancer. All donations from admission and kitchen will be given to Cody and his family. Donations are needed for this dance: chaperones and items for kitchen (hot dogs, buns, barbecue, soda, Gatorade, baked goods, etc.) Please help this very needed cause. Winter Craft Show A winter craft show with more than vendors will be held Saturday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 18, from noon to 4 p.m., at Shade Gap Auxiliary Building and Shade Gap Firehall. Homemade food will be available at both locations.

Christmas Bazaar St.Thomas Episcopal Church, 2 East High Street, Hancock, will hold a Christmas bazaar Saturday, November 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, ornaments and gifts, white elephant table, baked goods and soups to go. Also available will be ham potpie, soups, sandwiches, drinks and desserts.

Food Auction Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction Saturday, October 27. Kitchen opens at noon and auction begins at 2 p.m. with a variety of items. Mike Sullivan will be the vendor.

Ghost Stories Professional storyteller Alan Irvine will be at Fulton County Library in McConnellsburg Friday, October 26, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., to tell scary ghost stories for teens and adults. The program is not appropriate for younger children as it could get a little scary.

New York City Trip Modern Woodmen Youth Group is sponsoring a day “on your own” trip to New York City November 17. Cost is $50 per person. Leave McConnellsburg at 6:15 a.m., pit stop, arrive in NYC around 11:15 a.m., leave NYC at 6:30 p.m. A nonrefundable payment of $50 is due to hold seat and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Trunk or Treat Knobsville United Methodist Church will hold a trunk or treat Saturday, October 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the church parking lot. Children will receive candy, hot dogs and other snacks. There is no charge and everyone invited to attend. The church is located on Waterfall Road.

Line Dance Fulton County Line Dance Club will hold line dance sessions every Wednesday (except the first Wednesday of the month) beginning at 7:00 p.m. at VFW Post 655, Poplar Street, McConnellsburg. All are welcome. Come and learn some new steps. A $2 donation is appreciated.

Lanterns & Legends Festival A Lanterns and Legends Festival will be held at Cowans Gap State Park October 27, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fall foliage walk will be held at 1 p.m. with activities including pumpkin carving, seed roasting, apple press and hot apple cider. A Legends of Cowans Gap walk will be held at 7 p.m.

Christmas Bazaar A Christmas bazaar will be held November 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and November 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Teen Night Halloween Party A teen night Halloween Party with ghost stories will be held at McConnellsburg library, Friday, October 26, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share. At 5 p.m., ghost stories will be told by professional storyteller Alan Irvine. Please come early as this program will start on time. Costumes encouraged. Bring own pumpkin for carving (optional). Free and all teens welcome. Wii, crafts, board games, movies, books and music available. Enter through community room door.

Senior Center Social Night On October 26 Warfordsburg Senior Center’s social night will consist of a Halloween theme. Seniors 60 and over come dressed in costume and enjoy the evening. There will be prizes. Bring a covered dish, meat is furnished. Meal is at 6 pm. Music by DJs Barb & Forrest at 7 p.m. For more information, call 717-294-6020.

Old MHS Haunted School Tour McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends will host a tour of the haunted school at the alumni building in McConnellsburg Thursday, October 25, Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come and see what the downstairs is really like. Halloween Parade McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. will hold its annual Halloween parade Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m. The parade will line up on North First Street in the area of Fulton County Library at 6:30 p.m. where numbers will be given out. It will go from North First Street to south Third Street and end at the firehall where prizes will be awarded.

Christmas Dinner Auction Fulton County Community Christian School will host its annual Christmas dinner auction Saturday, November 10, at Needmore Bible Church. A silent auction will begin at 3:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the traditional auction at 6:30 p.m. Hundreds of items to bid on ranging from handcrafted furniture and crafts to antiques, guns, hunting and fishing gear and supplies, household decorations, framed prints, jewelry and much more. Items may be dropped at the school or arrangements for pickup can be made.

Bus Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 will sponsor a bus trip to New York City Saturday, December 1. The bus departs from McConnellsburg Courthouse at 6 a.m. A stop will be made for breakfast at approximately 8:15 a.m. and arrive in New York City near Macy’s at approximately 11:30 a.m. Depart New York City near 9th Ave., between 44th and 45th streets at 6:15 p.m. A stop will be made halfway home for supper. Estimated arrival back in McConnellsburg is 12:15 a.m. Cost for transportation and a buffet breakfsat is $50 per person. Free Blood Pressure Screenings Free blood pressure screenings will be given at the following locations: Mc- Connellsburg Senior Center the first Thursday of every month from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Hann’s Apartments the second Monday of every month from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Warfordsburg Senior Center the third Wednesday of every month from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Hustontown Senior Center the third Thursday of every month from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Flu Immunizations Free flu immunizations for Fulton County residents will be held October 30 at Warfordsburg Senior Center, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; October 30 at Hustontown Senior Center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and November 1 at Mc- Connellsburg Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. Addicts Helping Addicts Addicts Helping Addicts meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. This is a peer-led support group for addicts struggling with drug addiction and needing help in their recovery. Election Day Food Sale Election Day soup and sandwich sale will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Menu will include beef vegetable soup, ham and bean soup, chicken corn soup, chili, sloppy joes, hot dogs, chili dogs, kraut dogs, french fries, side salad, desserts and beverages. All soup sold by the quart at $4.50 a quart, and orders for quarts of soup can be placed by calling 717-987-3164.

Election Day Food Sale Food will be for sale from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wells Tannery Park on Election Day, November 6. Also on sale will be hats, T-shirts and Wells Tannery grandstand prints.

Pancake Supper Whips Cove Church pancake supper will be held Saturday, November 3, beginning at 5 p.m. Buckwheat and buttermilk pancakes, eggs, pork pudding, sausage and ham, sausage gravy and drinks. Election Day Spaghetti Dinner St. Stephen Catholic Church will hold an Election Day spaghetti dinner Tuesday, November 6. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meatball subs will be available also. Cost is $6 for aduts and children 12 and under are $3. Ham & Oyster Supper A ham and oyster supper will be held October 27, from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Cove Valley Youth Camp, 5357 Little Cove Road, Mercersburg. Cost for the allyou can-eat meal is $20 for adults and $5 children 4-12 years of age. Proceeds benefit the upkeep of the camp and camp ministry.

Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, sponsored annually by Samaritan’s Purse, will be collected at My Father’s House Ministries located at 1635 Lincoln Way West, McConnellsburg, during the week of November 12-19. 55-Alive Driving Offer The classroom refresher course for the 55-Alive/Mature Driving will be offered for free to veterans at Warfordsburg Senior Center November 27 and 28. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and two days of classes are required. Preregister either in person or by calling the center. All others can call or mail the check payable to AARP for $14 (per person nonmember) or $12 (per person AARP member) to Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267. Graduates of the class, age 55 and over, will be eligible for the 3-year auto insurance discounts. Anyone planning on staying for lunch following the class, please be sure to call 294-6020 one day in advance or when registering. There are no tests involved.

BINGO

McCbg. Bingo McConnellsburg Fire Co. will hold bingo every Monday and Friday of each week. Bingo starts at 7:00 p.m. and doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Red Neck Basket Bingo A Red Neck basket bingo will be held Saturday, November 10, at the Alumni Community Building. Proceeds support the building. Sponsors, baskets, door prizes, silent auction, baked goods, water, soda, Gatorade, hotdogs, barbecues, rolls, candy, nachos and cheese are needed. Anyone who can help or donate, please contact Mrs. Kendall at 485-0221 or 377-3643. Doors open at 5:30 and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $ 25 and includes 20 games plus four specials and door prizes. Baskets filled with goodies. There will be a raffle for a gun and one special will be for a fisherman’s combo. King Tut, raffles, jars and 50/50 will be available.

Basket Bingo A Longaberger basket fundraiser, sponsored by Breezewood Fire Co., will be held November 4, 2012. Doors open at 2 p.m., with games starting at 3 p.m. Tickets available at the door at a cost of $20 for 25 games and additional baskets and Longaberger items will be raffled off. All baskets will be filled by local business or friends of the fire company. Baskets are first quality and will include many baskets that are no longer available for purchase. Kitchen will be open. All proceeds benefit Breezewood Volunteer Fire Co.

Bingo McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. bingo games are held every Monday and Friday evenings. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.

Bingo Bingo will be held November 4 at McConnellsburg VFW. Doors open at noon and bingo starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance (will reserve your seat) and at the door for $25. Proceeds go to Wounded Warrior Foundation. Twenty games, raffles, food and prizes.

Basket Bingo Basket bingo will be held November 4 at Breezewood Fire Co. Doors open at 2 p.m. with games starting at 3 p.m. Tickets availale at the door at a cost of $20 for 25 games and additional baskets and items will be raffled off. Kitchen will be open. All proceeds benefit Breezewood Fire Co. Sponsored by the Longaberger Company.

Harvest Hoedown will be held at Buck Valley Park on Sunday, October 28, from 4-8 p.m. Trunk-or-Treat will be from 7- 8 p.m. Kitchen opens at 4 p.m. There will be bingo, a costume contest for all ages, and hayrides. Music will be provided by DJ Rockin Rob. Teens welcomed. Costumes encouraged. Rain or shine. This is the last event of the year.

MEETINGS

Legion Meeting American Legion Post 561 active members regular meeting is the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Auxiliary members meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Members of both organizations are urged to attend.

PARSE Meeting Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE) has a 9:00 a.m. breakfast meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at McConnellsburg FOVA (VFW). If roads are snow-covered, meeting will be cancelled. All retired state employees and spouses are invited to attend. For additional information, call 717-294-3861.

Democratic Meetings The Fulton County Democratic Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Democratic Headquarters building at 123 South Second Street in McConnellsburg. Scout Meeting Boy Scouts of America Troop 43 meets every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the VFW, 518 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg. It is open to all boys 11-18 years of age. PASR Meeting Fulton PASR invites all school retirees to help celebrate. They are 45 and PASR is 75. The group will meet in McConnellsburg Luthern Church Thursday, November 8, starting at 9 a.m. to celebrate. Those honored will be the current members who are 75 and over and will get a free meal. Town Hall Meeting Sen. John H. Eichelberger Jr. (R-Blair) will host a town hall meeting in Fulton County. These meetings are part of the senator’s effort to make state government accessible for all people in his district. Town hall meetings are open to the public, providing residents with a chance to speak directly with the senator about issues important to them. The meeting will be held Tuesday, October 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Fulton County Courthouse courtroom, 201 North Second Street, McConnellsburg.
