4-H Members Advance To State Competition

Eight members of Fulton County 4-H Horse and Pony Club will compete in the 2012 State 4-H Horse Show, October 26-28 in Harrisburg at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.

Rachel Barmont of Mc- Connellsburg will compete in Western Pleasure Horses, Junior Rider, Western Horsemanship, Junior and Western Grooming and Showmanship Junior, after her first place win in all three with “Theyre Talkin Frost” in district competition.

Krista DeShong of Mc- Connellsburg will compete in Hunter Seat Equitation (on the flat), Senior Rider, after winning second place with “American Revolution” in district competition. She will also compete in Yearling Filly Miniature Horse Registered Production after winning a blue ribbon with “South Lawns Early Dawn” in production competition.

McKenzie Gelvin of Waterfall will compete in Clover Leaf Barrel Race Horses, Junior Rider, after her second-place win with “Flits Little Star” in district competition.

Caitlin Glazier of Mc- Connellsburg will compete in Western Grooming and Showmanship, Senior, after winning second place with “Dirty N Smokey” and will compete in Miniature Horse In Hand Trail after winning first place with “ Casteeles Little Bear” both in district competition. She will also compete in Two-Year- Old Quarter Horse Filly Production with “PSU A Real Shadow” and Four-Year- Old Western Pleasure Futurity Production with “PSU Steppin Kuel” after winning blue ribbons both in production competition.

Sarah Keaton of Mc- Connellsburg will compete in Hunter Seat Equitation (on the flat), Junior Rider, following a second place win with “Sure Nuff Awesome” in district competition.

Kelsi Kendall of Needmore will compete in Two Year Old Miniature Gelding Grade Production after winning a blue ribbon with “Vin Diesel” in production competition.

Tory Layton of Wells Tannery will compete in Breed Type Hunter Under Saddle Horses, Junior Rider, after winning first place with “Knight Time Zippo” in district competition. She will also compete in Two-Year-Old Miniature Gelding Grade Production after winning a blue ribbon with “Rocky Pines Grand Finale” in production competition.

Karlie Ward of Needmore will compete in Three-Year- Old Warmblood Filly Production after winning a blue ribbon with “A Friso Legacy” in production competition.

In all, the 4-H Horse and Pony Club will have 13 horses and eight members showing in the 2012 State Horse Show.
