Three Injured In Accident

Three individuals suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate during a twovehicle accident at 1400 Lincoln Way East last Tuesday morning.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said 22- year- old McConnellsburg resident Hakeem L. Jefferson was travelling eastbound when his 2002 Ford Explorer crossed into the oncoming lane. Jefferson’s vehicle struck a westbound 1996 Honda Civic driven by Cierra L. Mariano, 24, of Fort Loudon. Following impact, Mariano’s car continued forward and struck a utility pole along the berm.

Mariano, Jefferson and his passenger, Amber E. Henry, 26, also of Mc- Connellsburg, were transported via ambulance to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment.

Jefferson is being charged by state police with driving on roadways laned for traffic in connection with the 10:53 a.m. accident in Ayr Township.

Two Require Medical Transport

Two individuals required transport to Fulton County Medical Center on Wednesday, October 3, following a two-vehicle collision along Route 30.

According to state police, 24-year-old Jamie L. Ragland of Lemasters lost control of her 1997 Dodge Caravan at 9:20 a.m. while coming down the mountain in Ayr Township. Ragland’s westbound van slid into the oncoming lane and struck a 2003 Freightliner driven by Billy Joe Swartz, 44, Shippensburg.

Ragland and her juvenile daughter, who had been secured in a child safety seat, were transported by Mc- Connellsburg Ambulance from the crash scene. She will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic. Swartz was wearing a seat belt and escaped harm.

Two Charged With Harassment

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have charged two Warfordsburg area residents with harassment following an incident at 254 Alpine Road.

On Saturday, September 22, at 6:15 p.m., police allege 31-year- old Terry Vincent Hann slapped Stacy Lynn Barnhart, 34, in the back of the head. Barnhart allegedly responded by punching Hann in the face.

According to police reports, both individuals grabbed one another and fell to the ground before Barnhart was able to pull away and grab a baseball bat. She is accused of hitting the man several times with the bat, police added. The bat was eventually thrown into a nearby wooded area, but Barnhart took a golf club and smashed the windshield of Hann’s car with it.

Man Released Following Assault

A 22-year- old McConnellsburg man was released on $50,000 unsecured bond following a physical altercation at 1489 Cito Road. State police said Justin Allen Garlock was taken into custody following the 1:15 p.m. incident on Tuesday, October 2, and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne. Victim in the case is a 29-year-old McConnellsburg woman.

One Cited For Disorderly Conduct

A 29-year-old St. Thomas man was cited by state police in McConnellsburg following an incident in the area of the Fulton County Courthouse. Police said Derrick Leevy was charged with disorderly conduct for the actions he displayed in public on Saturday, September 29, at 10 a.m.

Cat Shot

A cat belonging to a 29- year-old Big Cove Tannery woman was shot in the leg at 2414 Cito Road in Ayr Township between October 1 and October 3. The wound re- quired the cat’s owner to seek medical attention for the cat that required a leg amputation. Mailbox Damaged

A blunt instrument was used to damage a mailbox located at 1924 West Orchard Road in Thompson Township, state police said. The mischief occurred between 12:01 p.m. on September 28 and midnight on October 3. Victim is a 48-year-old Mercersburg area man. Burnt Cabins Man Suffers Minor Injuries

A Burnt Cabins man suffered minor cuts when he swerved to miss several deer attempting to cross Aughwick Road on Thursday, October 4.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported the southbound black Ford Ranger driven by 21-year-old Aaron Alan Seville rolled off the Todd Township roadway north of the intersection of Stump Road. Seville was using a seat belt when the accident occurred at 9:06 p.m. The truck sustained severe damage.

Shot Fired

A rifle was discharged into a residence located on the 8000 block of Old 126 on Thursday, October 4, Pennsylvania State Police reported. Moments after the shot rang out at 10:10 a.m., police said a white, four-door sedan was seen heading southbound. Anyone having further information related to this case of reckless endangerment is asked to call state police Trooper Falkosky at 717-485-3131.

Purse Stolen

A purse belonging to a 23- year- old Chambersburg woman was stolen from the Mountain House Bar and Grill at 8:23 p.m. on Thursday, October 4. The investigation into the theft is ongoing, state police investigators said. Anyone with information about this incident should contact state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.

Two Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Two McConnellsburg women are facing charges of disorderly conduct and harassment following a physical altercation at 36 Cloverleaf Court on Friday, October 5. Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported Michele Eve Lavoie, 42, and 26- year- old Jamie Ann Bogue argued at 3 p.m. over the alleged theft of prescription medication.

One Accused Of Harassment

Charges of harassment are slated to be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott against 24- year- old McConnellsburg resident Tyeisha Marie Spriggs. State police accused Spriggs of shoving a 88-yearold McConnellsburg woman on September 27. The harassment reportedly occurred at 477 Heritage Drive in Todd Township between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Car Rolls Onto Roof

A Columbia, Pa., woman suffered minor injuries when her car rolled over along Lincoln Highway on Monday, October 8.

According to state police reports, 22-year-old Stefanie A. Brown was injured while travelling eastbound through Brush Creek Township at 11:37 p.m. Brown’s 2009 Ford Focus slid off the roadway and into a ditch where it struck an embankment. The car then travelled up the embankment, police said, before rolling onto its roof.

Brown was wearing a seat belt and did not require medical transport. She will be cited by state police for driving at unsafe speeds.

Man Uninjured In Accident

A 54-year- old McConnellsburg man escaped injury during a single-vehicle accident along Lincoln Highway Monday evening.

Clinton James Shore Jr. was travelling eastbound through Brush Creek Township at 8 p.m. when he lost control of his 1990 Dodge Dakota, state police said. The truck spun across the road and struck an embankment. The impact caused the vehicle to roll onto its driver’s side.

Shore was not wearing a seat belt. State police were assisted on the scene by Mc- Connellsburg Fire and EMS as well as Fischer’s Towing.

Virginia Residents Escape Harm

Two Tasley, Va., residents were not harmed when their westbound 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer spun into an embankment at 4 p.m. on Monday, October 8.

According to state police reports, driver Wilmar Lopez Rodriguez, 32, and passenger Sarain Gonzalez Rodriguez, 26, were both wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred along Lincoln Highway in Brush Creek Township. Wilmar Rodriguez will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic. His vehicle was disabled.

Charges Pending Further Investigation

Charges are pending further investigation into a single vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, October 8, in Brush Creek Township.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said Sheryl Pamela Birch, 65, of Lewistown was travelling eastbound along Lincoln Highway when she observed an oncoming vehicle cross into her lane of travel at 3:40 p. m. Birch reportedly swerved to the right, causing her 2004 Jeep Liberty to strike a rock wall.

Birch was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Her Jeep was disabled.

Mailbox Damaged

A mailbox located at 838 Heavenly Acres Ridge Road in Thompson Township was damaged between 7 p.m. on October 3 and 7:30 a.m. on October 4. Victim in this case of criminal mischief is a 53- year-old Mercersburg area man. Anyone having further information pertinent to this case should contact state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.

Mischief Reported

The tail lamps of a vehicle parked at 1061 Heavenly Acres Ridge Road in Thompson Township were damaged between 6 p.m. on October 7 and 3 p.m. on October 8. Victim is a 38-year-old Mercersburg man. Anyone with addi- tional information linked to this incident of mischief is asked to call state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.

Charges To Be Filed In Crash

A 17-year-old juvenile is slated to be charged as a result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, October 8, on the 700 block of Old 126. According to state police, the juvenile was attempting to pull out of a Bethel Township driveway at 7:30 a.m. and pulled into the path of a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Heather Leigh Powell of Warfordsburg.

The front end of Powell’s vehicle struck the driver’s side door of the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am driven by the juvenile.

The juvenile remained trapped inside the car for approximately 30 minutes before volunteers from the Needmore Fire Co. were able to remove her, police added. The juvenile suffered unknown injuries. Both the teen and Powell were wearing seat belts.

State police were also assisted on the scene by Needmore and Hancock EMS.

Scattering Rubbish Repor ted

Assorted household items were dumped along Buck Valley Mountain on Thursday, October 4, at noon, state police reported. Anyone having further information regarding this case of scattering rubbish is urged to call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485-3131.

Two To Be Cited Following Fight

Two McConnellsburg residents will be charged with harassment through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott. State police alleged the argument between Emily Renae Morris, 21, and 27-year-old John William Decyk II turned physical on Tuesday, October 2. The harassment occurred at 1:30 a.m. at 709 Lincoln Way East in Mc- Connellsburg Borough.

Trailer Damaged

A house trailer belonging to a 20-year-old McConnellsburg man was damaged on Thursday, October 4, at 8:02 p.m. Accused of criminal mischief in this case is Trenton Brock Lister, 35, also of Mc- Connellsburg, state police reported.

Car Strikes Utility Pole

An eastbound 2000 Lincoln Continental spun into a utility pole at 1400 Lincoln Way East in McConnellsburg on Friday, October 5. Pennsylvania State Police in Mc- Connellsburg said Joseph A. Scavone, 71, of McConnellsburg was not injured during the 9:47 a.m. accident He will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
