The varsity Cowboys endured a disappointing loss to the Woodcock Colts. The Colts controlled the game throughout, racing to a 42-0 victory. The loss drops the Cowboys to 2-4 on the season. The final regular season game will be hosted in Mc- Connellsburg this Saturday, October 6. Details on the contest and fundraisers for the evening can be found elsewhere in the News.

The junior varsity Cowboys battled the Woodcock Colts tooth-and-nail before running out of time in a 20- 13 loss. The Cowboys struck first behind Tayshaun Foster’s rushing touchdown. The Colts answered with two scores to take a 13-7 lead. Needing a spark, the Cowboys dug into their bag of tricks and pulled out a halfback pass. Foster found Zander Sipes open for a touchdown, knotting the game at 13-13. The Colts again found the end zone for a 20-13 lead, but the Cowboys had a final opportunity to answer. After receiving the kickoff with two minutes remaining, the Cowboys drove to the Colts’ 10-yard line, knocking on the end zone door as time expired.

Foster paced the Cowboys on both sides of the ball, adding a fumble recovery and interception on defense to his hand in the scoring. Landon Bishop also caused havoc in the Colt backfield.

The junior varsity Cowboys face off with the undefeated Mount Union Vikings at home, in Mc- Connellsburg, at 5:30 p.m. this Saturday.

The Cowboys flag team claimed its second victory of 2012, outscoring Mount Union White 24-18. Henry Hershey tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Slates. Ian Mc- Closkey scored two touchdowns for the Cowboys, one on an interception return and the other a rushing touchdown. Skyler Speigle rushed for the Cowboys other touchdown. McCloskey contributed two interceptions, Slates a fumble recovery, and Jesse Sheeder 13 tackles to pace the defense.
