First Bus Tour Of Fulton County By Historical Society Planned
After the successful bus tour of Franklin County in August, the Fulton Historical Society is now planning a first- ever bus tour of southern Fulton County and the Hancock areas for the Fulton Fall Folk Festival.
This is a new event for the festival and will include historic sites in McConnellsburg, the White Church at Union Cemetery plus some unique tombstones in the cemetery, Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church, lunch at Weavers, C&O Canal Visitors Center, old National Pike tollhouse, Fairview oneroom school and Crystal Spring Campground, which still holds summer services. Others sites will be discussed. Docents will talk at all stops. This bus trip will provide an opportunity to view the beautiful fall foliage as it travels through southern and western Fulton County.
The cost is $70, ($65 for Historical Society members) and includes the Bollman bus, lunch and all fees and gratuities. The date is Friday, Oct. 19, and the bus will depart from McConnellsburg. Contact John at 328- 9279 for reservations and details.
