Do The Math On Nation’s Debt

To The Editor:

Do we need this amount of change? The current national debt is now more than $15 trillion, which is an increase of 5 trillion in 3.75 years ... 5 compared to 10 is an increase of 50 percent. So if this change continues for another 4.25 years, the percent becomes 56.67. (50/375 = X/4.25).

Which means the debt will mushroom to 23.50 trillion. (X/15 = 56.67/100 or 8.5 trillion and 8.5 + 15 = 23.5 trillion)

Former students, please note that I showed my work!
