FFA To Host Benefit Concert For Cody Trail
The McConnellsburg High School FFA program will host a benefit concert and bake sale to raise funds for its trip to the FFA National Convention and to support FFA member Cody Trail in his fight against cancer.
The concert will be held September 30, 2012, in McConnellsburg High School auditorium beginning at 4 p.m. The cost of admission is by donation. The FFA convention will be held in Indianapolis, Ind., in late October of this year. Several MHS students will attend. DeAnne Dickerson, one of the members attending, will be competing as a finalist in the FFA national talent competition. DeAnne placed second at the state convention talent show after winning the Bedford area singing competition “Rising Star.” She will perform at the benefit concert, alongside a fellow contestant and judge of “Rising Star” and local musical standout Olivia Mills.
Several others from the area are scheduled to appear in the benefit concert, and more. The King himself may make an appearance. Proceeds will contribute to the FFA trip to Indiana; however, any additional proceeds will be given directly to Cody and his family to help cover their expenses. For additional information, call Carla Dickerson, chairman, at 717-830-5426.
