Hu – MacDonald United
Jessie Ann MacDonald and Dexter Tsang Tak Hu were married June 16, 2012, in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Country Club. Rev. Evan Smith of McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church helped officiate the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Barbara MacDonald of McConnellsburg. Her grandparents are Jean Mellott and the late Harry W. Mellott, and Paul and Jane MacDonald, also of McConnellsburg.
The groom is the son of Herman and Jeanie Hu of Hong Kong. The couple met in 2006 when they were both attending University of Pittsburgh.
After a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, the bride was presented in marriage by her father. Matron of honor was Lesley Spriggs, the bride’s best friend since childhood. David Rice, the groom’s college friend and co-worker, was the best man.
A wedding banquet was held June 17 at The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. A wedding celebration was held at the bride’s parents’ home on July 28 for family and friends who could not travel to Hong Kong for the wedding.
The newlyweds honeymooned in the Maldives and are currently residing in Pittsburgh. The bride works as a pharmacist at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital. The groom attends Chatham University, where he is pursuing his Doctor of Psychology degree.
