Doug Esh picked up his first win of the season Saturday night, and it was a quite a big win.
Esh raced home the winner of the All-Star Circuit of Champions Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway and took the big $11,450 payday with him after his second career Port Royal win.
David Gravel finished second over Dale Blaney, Harrisonville’s Mike Wagner and Danny Lasoski. Wagner led the first 17 laps of the event.
Dale Blaney won Friday night’s Night Before the 50 event, the first-ever win for a card carrying member of the All- Stars at Port Royal. Blaney dominated the event to score the win over Stevie Smith, Lance De- wease, Danny Dietrich and Fred Rahmer. Wagner finished 14th.
Chad Layton clinched the 2012 Port Royal 410 Sprint car track title over Wagner.
Brett Schadel won Friday’s Late Model feature at the Port over Coleby Frye, Chad Hollenbeck, Mike Lupfer and Jeff Rine, while Tim Wilson’s eighth-place finish was good enough to clinch his first career track championship. Wilson’s first title ended Scott Haus’ domination at the Port since the 2006 season.
Pat Cannon won for the eighth time this season in Saturday’s 358 Sprint car feature at Selinsgrove Speedway and in the process clinched his third career track championship.
Cannon defeated Jason Shultz, TJ Stutts, Ryan Kissinger and Duane Mausteller.
Jeff Rine picked up his sixth Late Model win of the year at Selinsgrove as he beat Mike Lupfer, Bryan Bernheisel, Donnie Schick and Chris Shuey.
Ryan Wilson won Friday’s 358 Sprint car feature at Williams Grove Speedway over TJ Stutts, Pat Cannon, Eric Tomecek and Mark Smith.
Russ Mitten won the Grove’s Super Sportsman event over Kenny Edkin, Steve Fannasy, Paul Miller and Doug Dodson. Mitten’s win gave him the point lead by five points over Frankie Herr with one point race remaining for the division.
JT Spence won the Topless 30 for 358 Late Models at Williams Grove over Randy Stoudt, Bobby Beard, Grant Adams and Gene Knaub.
Isaac Sneeringer won for the second time this season in Friday night 358 Sprint action at Trail-Way Speedway over Randy Whisler, Joe Trone Jr., Jeff Rohrbaugh and Kyle Moody.
Saturday night racing action at Lincoln, Williams Grove, Winchester and Susquehanna speedways was all rained out.
