Ronald E. Mumma Mercersburg, 61

Ronald E. Mumma, 61, Mercersburg, died Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Hershey Medical Center, holding the hand of his wife and best friend, Deb.

Born August 30, 1951, in Washington, D.C., he was the only child of the late Elwood (Red) and Margaret (Peggy) Mumma.

After high school, he was proud to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973. His love of country and all military personnel who serve it continued until his last breath.

He then worked at Chas Pfizer as an operator mechanic from 1973 to 1977. He was an equipment operator and mechanic at Fairchild Republic Co. from 1977 to 1984, as well as a manager and technical consultant for Snelling and Snelling in 1984. He held the position of facilities manager at MKI Limited Partnership from 1985 to 1987, and then continued the same position at Top Flight Airpark until 1988. His remaining years were spent as warehouse foreman for the Department of State Household Effects in Hagerstown.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Deborah Eddy Mumma; his daughter, Tinna Marie Wallech, Waynesboro; son Ronald Scott Mumma, Hagerstown; stepdaughter Kristen Liegh Mumma and son- in- law Sheldon Mumma, McConnellsburg; and stepdaughter, Allyson Dawn Yeager and son-in-law Tommy Yeager Jr., Mercersburg.

He greatly loved his family and was especially proud of his nine grandchildren: Jacob Wallech, Kolton and Emmersyn Mumma, Aaron, Alex, Dalton, Braydon and Gavin Mumma, and Jordyn Yeager.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, September 11, at 6 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Ltd., Chambersburg.
