RELIGION

Revival Revival services will be held September 30 thru October 7 at Fort Littleton Bible Church. Sunday services will be at 10:30 a.m. and weekly services at 7 p.m. with Rev. William White and Rev. Ken Ali. All are welcome.

Concert A concert will be held at First Church of God at Orchard Ridge, near Hancock, Md., September 16, at 6 p.m. Appearing will be The Walking Miracles, Southern gospel music with testimonies of a cancer survivor and a 30-year Crohn’s disease survivor. The church is located on Rt. 522 south. Take 70 east to Exit 5 on left. Right at stop sign, approxmatley two miles on Orchard Ridge Road. Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church Annual Fall Service The Friends of Tonoloway will hold their annual fall service October 7 at historic Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church in Thompson Township, Fulton County. The 2 p.m. service will include an inspirational message by Rev. David E. Ford of the First Baptist Church of Three Springs, Three Springs, Pa.; a cappella chorale singing by the Sharon Singers, a choir of students from the Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute, Harrisonville, Pa.; and congregational hymns. Refreshments will be served in the churchyard following the service. Established in 1752, Tonoloway is Fulton County’s oldest church and is located on Thompson Road (state Route 655) two miles north of Hancock, Md. Friends of Tonoloway is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church.

Fall Revival Dublin Mills Community Church, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, will hold fall revival meetings with evangelist Tim Thompson September 16-21. The meetings will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 16, and will be held each evening at 7 p.m., with Friday, September 21, being the last service. RECREATION

Open Stage Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will hold an open stage Saturday, September 22, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Festival A festival will be held at Buck Valley Park September 15 at 5 p.m. Music by Rusty McCumbee and Morgan County Line.

Rug-Hooking Class Fulton County Parks and Rec is hosting a 3-week rug-hooking class on Monday nights starting September 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Community State Bank meeting room in McConnellsburg. The class is structured to first-timers and instructed by Jackie Kelso. Cost for the class is $68, which includes both instruction and a pumpkin rug kit ($38). Quilting Class Fulton County Parks and Rec will be hosting a 6-week basic quilting class starting mid-January 2013. The class is structured for first-timers and will focus on the log cabin pattern. Teen Night Teen night will be held at McConnellsburg library, Friday, Sept 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free. All teens welcome. Wii, board games, craft, movies, books, and music available. Enter through community room door.

Cruise-In For A Cause A cruise-in will be held September 15 at Thomas All Things Automotive from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A $10 donation is being accepted per registered vehicle. This event is being held to benefit the 2012 Fight Like A Girl recipients of Fulton County. Food is available for purchase by Sipes Smokehouse BBQ. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. The first 50 registered vehicles will receive a thankyou gift bag. No alcoholic beverages, please. Not responsible for accidents. Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. FR/ Hustontown Alumni Banquet The Hustontown/ Forbes Road Alumni banquet will be held October 6 at Hustontown Firehall. Doors open at 4 p.m. for those who want to come early and visit with friends. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. A donation of $9 will be collected for each person attending. Everyone who has graduated from either Hustontown High School or Forbes Road High School is invited to attend the banquet. A special invitation is extended to the classes of 1932, 1942, 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992, 2002 and 2012. Make checks payable to Hustontown-Forbes Road Alumni Assoc. Cancer Benefit Luncheon The fourth annual Fight Like A Girl cancer benefit luncheon will be held October 6, at Calvary Baptist Church Life Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and program starts at 11 a.m. A catered lunch will be served. Silent auction items and raffles will be available to raise funds for two local persons with their struggles. This year’s recipients are Dave Welsh and Joan Houck. Tickets are $15 each or $75 for a table (6 seats). Door tickets will be limited so reserve seats now. Chicken BBQ Needmore Fire Co. is holding a chicken barbecue Sunday, September 16, at 11 a.m. Menu will be half a chicken, baked beans, applesauce, cake and roll.

Turkey Dinner Turkey dinners will be served at Clear Ridge Community Building September 13 at 4 p.m. Sandwiches, pies and ice cream will be available. Last one of the season.

Chili Cook-off Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church Outreach/ Fellowship Committee is having its first annual chili cook-off October 6, 2012. The contest will run from noon to 4 p.m. Advanced entry must be received by September 1, 2012. Advanced entry fee is $20 and will be refunded after completion of the event. All entries after September 1, 2012, will be charged $25. Space is limited, so enter early. Everyone is eligible to enter. First prize is $200; second prize- $100; third prize - $50. Autumn Tea Fulton County Historical Social Museum is hosting its annual autumn tea at the Fulton House at 11:30 a.m., September 15. Admission tickets are $9 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12. A light lunch, tea and desserts will be served. Tickets may be purchased from Tickle Your Fancy Teas on West Main Street, Monica at the treasurer’s office or call Ruth at 485-4496.

Democratic Dinner The fall Democratic dinner will be held Friday, September 21, at 6:30 p.m., at Hustontown Firehall. (Note the Friday date instead of Saturday). Tickets available at the door or from any committee member.

Food Sale A soup, jelly, pickles, chili and bake sale will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 13-15, at Whips Cove Church, 5044 Moss Road, Warfordsburg. Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Available will be homemade jelly, jam and pickles, processed vegetable beef, chicken corn, ham and bean soup and chili by the bowl or by the quart. Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

Harr Reunion The descendants of John Harr (1776-1852) will hold their 27th reunion Sunday, September 16, at the VFW picnic grounds in Big Cove Tannery. Each family is asked to bring their own table setting and picnic lunch to be shared at 12:30 p.m.

DeShong Reunion The Harry N. and Arishia DeShong reunion will be held September 16 at the homeplace on Goldie Road. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring lawn chairs.

Kuhn/Clevenger/Kendle Reunion The Kuhn/ Clevenger/ Kendle reunion will be held Sunday, September 16, at the Upton Community Center at noon. Bring a covered dish and drinks for family and items for the auction.

Musical Instruments Wanted Southern Fulton Band Boosters are seeking donations of new or used musical instruments for use by beginning band students. Carwash A teen carwas will be held Saturday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Car Quest Auto Parts (formerly Thomas Chevrolet). Carwash donations will fund teen activities at the Fulton County Library.

Public Lands Day At Cowans Gap Come join volunteers of all ages “getting dirty” from 9 a.m. to noon, as they spruce up Cowans Gap State Park. Be part of this nationwide volunteer effort that seeks to honor the Civil Conservation Corps and protect America’s natural resources. Quilt Club Retreat Fulton County Quilt Club will hold its annual retreat Saturday, September 15, beginning at 9 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Lincoln Way East in Mc- Connellsburg. Penny rugs and coasters/ornaments for handouts at the quilt show will be made. Please bring sewing machines, fabric, batting scraps, wool felt or felt, embroidery thread, scissors, chenille needles, cutting mats and rotary cutters and fabric glue. Basket Bingo Forbes Road Class of 2014 will hold a Longaberger basket bingo October 14 at Hustontown Firehall. Large baskets filled with lots of great stuff, along with refreshments (chicken corn soup, baked goods, barbecues, etc.) and tip jars.
