Jehovah’s Witnesses Attend Bible Seminar
“What an encouraging program” was the sentiment expressed by local Jehovah’s Witnesses who attended a two-day Bible seminar at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Grantville, Pa., just east of Harrisburg. According to Ean Ritondo, a local congregation elder, there were more than 50 witnesses from theMcConnellsburg congregation who attended the event as families.
The theme was “Safeguard Your Mind.” Saturday a talk entitled “Meditation That Safeguards the Mind” was delivered by traveling overseer for central Pennsylvania Mark Tolliver. Following his talk, Gunther Starr, travelling overseer of Jehovah’s Witnesses, spoke on the subject “Who Molds Your Thinking?”
The Saturday program emphasized having the right mental attitude and carried through to Sunday where it was emphsaized to everyone the importance of having the mind of Christ. That was especially seen in a four-part symposium on each member of the family.
A key part of the Saturday program was a public baptism of qualified ones who thus symbolized the dedication of themselves to do God’s will. All sessions were free and open to the public. There were 608 in attendance.
