Donald E. McCoy Waynesboro, 57
Donald E. “Donnie” Mc- Coy, 57, Waynesboro, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, following a brave battle with cancer.
Born November 23, 1954, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late William D. and Viola Mae (King) McCoy, Williamson, Pa.
He thoroughly enjoyed the “do-it-yourself” lifestyle in his own home, as well as helping his friends and family with their projects. He took pride in his work and that pride was reflectd in his smile.
One of his greatest pleasures was travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway and attending the anual Mayberry Days Festival in Mount Airy, N.C., with his wife, Tina.
He was employed as a welder at Bri-Mar Manufacturing in Chambersburg.
He attended Lemasters United Methodist Church.
He is survied by his wife, Tina Marie (Davis) McCoy, whom he married in 1995; a daughter, Mandy Walls, and her husband, Eric, Fayetteville; a stepson, Cory Kaiser, Mercersburg; a stepdaughter, Nikki Kaiser, Waynesboro; two granddaughters: Kylie and Taylor; two brothers: Terry McCoy and his wife, Tracey, Mont Alto, Pa., and Gary McCoy and his wife, Jean, Williamson; and a sister, Debbie Condon, Olympia, Wash.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 6, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Pastor Grand Brouse will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, at the funeral home.
Anyone who knew Donnie knows he wasn’t a “suit and tie man.’ He believed in being comforable. For this reason, he asked to go home in his pajamas so he could be ready to rest. He also requested that those attending the service dress casually.
