Park Family Holds Reunion

The 48th annual reunion of descendants of Clay and Alice Park was held August 19 at Dublin Mills Church pavilion.

The day started out rather chilly, but by lunchtime most everyone shed their sweater. There were 57 family members and guests in attendance for food, fellowship and games.

Harold Adams gave the blessing for the delicious buffet style meal. Then the business meeting was presided over by the president, Harold Adams, who read scripture from Philippians 2:1-11. Last year’s minutes were accepted by Jean Adams. Name tags were distributed by Irene Miller.

The election of officers remain the same: president - Harold Adams; vice president - Steve Grissinger; secretary - Dauna Baker; and treasurer - Irene Miller.

Children’s games were presided over by Marie Park and she accepted to oversee it again next year. Adult games were presided over by Karen Long and Amy Patterson. However, Harold Adams will oversee it next year.

The adult games and winners were: travelled the farthest - Esther Heatwole (200 miles from Sudlersville, Md.- travelled the least - Steve and Evelyn Grissinger (1/4 mile from Dublin Mills); married the longest - Wally and Norma Newman (60 years); most recently married - Anthony and Phyllis DiFlavis (11 months); youngest baby - Danielle Clapsadle ( 5 months); oldest man - Wally Newman (84); oldest woman Norma Newman (83); tallest teenage boy - Dalton Nearhood (6’1”); and longest hair on teenage girl - Harley Cohenour (15”).
