By Kate Berkstresser

Hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy this beautiful Labor Day weekend. The weather was just great.

We are glad to report Lee Tice had some surgery and is getting along real well. We wish for his complete recovery.

Kate Berkstresser spent the weekend with Harvey and Pat Berkstresser at Mc- Cartney, Pa.

Had a very nice weekend visiting Pat’s sister, Helen, from New York and also several of her other relatives.

Just a reminder that election day is fast approaching. Also remember that all voters must show a photo ID. This shouldn’t be a problem as this is easy to get.

Also a reminder that it’s only a month until the Lynch reunion on Sunday, October 7. So hope all the Lynch relatives and families will be at Needmore Firehall for the meal at 1 p.m. All are asked to bring covered dish and also something for the auction. Hope to see you there for a good afternoon of fun and fellowship.

Jeff Krick, an Elvis impersonator, will be at the Forbes Road auditorium in September, sponsored by Hustontown Fire Co. Everyone is invited to attend to have a nice evening and also support our very loyal fire company.

Happy birthday wishes to Tammy Gelvin on September 3 and Tammy Berkstresser on September 11.

Household hint: When baking cookies and don’t have a cookie sheet, just turn a roasting pan upside down and use the bottom of the pan as a baking surface. Grease and flour as usual.
