Signs Taken

Signs and posts designating Bethel Church and Alpine roads were stolen on July 30, according to state police. A yellow cattle sign was also removed from the same area. Anyone with additional information concerning this theft is urged to call state police Trooper Remeikas at 717-485-3131.

Jewelry, Handgun Stolen

Numerous pieces of jewelry and a handgun were stolen during a burglary that occurred July 31. According to state police reports, burglars forced their way into the home on the 2000 block of Deneens Gap Road, Warfordsburg.

Police said at around 9:30 a.m., a white male with collar length blonde or brown hair was seen on the victim’s property. The man was operating a black motorcycle and is a person of interest at this time. Tire Damaged

A tire on a vehicle parked in the employee parking lot of the Sideling Hill Plaza in Taylor Township was punctured on Thursday, August 2, at 1 a.m. Victim in the case is an 18-year-old Hustontown boy. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police Trooper Sprague at 717-485-3131.

Pills Stolen

Approximately 30 Xanax pills and an additional 30 Ritalin pills were stolen from 1119 Granite Drive, Warfordsburg, on Thursday, August 9, at 12:01 p.m. Suspect in the case is a 22-year-old male, said state police, who are continuing their investigation. Man Puts Woman In Chokehold

A 37-year- old Hustontown man has been cited for harassment following a physical altercation at 115 Doran Road in Taylor Township.

State police said Ashley Robert Ramsey and a female victim were involved in a verbal dispute on Wednesday, August 9. The female victim reportedly followed Ramsey upstairs to bed to get an apology, but police alleged he responded by punching her in the eye and back. Ramsey is then accused of putting the woman in a “chokehold.” The victim attempted to get free by scratching him.

Charges against Ramsey have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.

Tools Taken

A Milwaukee 18-volt lithium power tool kit containing a 1/2” impact driver, a 1/4” impact driver, reciprocating saw, 1/2” drill, 1/2” hammer drill, 1/2” drill, flashlight, grinder, two batteries and charger was stolen from Commercial Concepts, 11860 Great Cove Road, Mc- Connellsburg.

The theft reportedly occurred between July 20 and August 13, state police said. All tools were red in color. Anyone having further information linked to this case is urged to contact state police Trooper Watkins at 717- 485-3131.

License Plate Stolen

A PA dealer’s registration plate was stolen from a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon while it was driven throughout the borough of McConnellsburg. Victim in the case is Tri- State ATV of McConnellsburg. Anyone with additional information concerning this incident is asked to call state police Trooper Barnett at 717-485-3131.

Two Vehicles Collide

Three McConnellsburg residents escaped harm when two vehicles collided the junction of Fulton Drive and Great Cove Road over the weekend.

Pennsylvania State Police from the McConnellsburg barracks said a westbound 1992 Toyota Celica driven by a 16-year-old boy slid past the stop sign on Fulton Drive and into a northbound 2009 Nissan Maxima driven by Jean Elizabeth Snyder, 61. The front right corner of Snyder’s car struck the boy’s car.

Snyder, the juvenile driver and his passenger, 20-yearold Justin Michael Shaw, were all wearing seat belts. The juvenile will be cited for stop and yield signs as well as tire equipment and traction surfaces.

Damage to the vehicles ranged from minor to moderate.

Waterfall Man In Bedford County Crash

Eighty-five-year-old Wilber Leidig of Waterfall was involved in a two-vehicle collision along Route 30 in Bedford County recently.

Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford reported Leidig failed to switch off his turn signal after changing lanes on August 16. Leidig’s westbound 1997 Buick Sable struck the front end of a 2009 Volvo 630 driven by Charlie J. Frangeih, 48, of Flagstaff, Ariz. Frangeih was in the process of entering the road when his Volvo was struck.

Both drivers, police said, were wearing seat belts and received citations in the crash.

Weed Whacker Stolen

An orange, straight shaft grass trimmer was stolen from 114 Hereford Lane, Warfordsburg, between 10 a.m. on August 17 and 7:30 a.m. on August 22. Victim is a 53-year-old Warfordsburg woman. Anyone with additional information pertinent to this case is asked to call state police Trooper Doriguzzi at 717-485-3131.

One Cited In Argument

Twenty-one-year-old Mc- Connellsburg resident Michael Ryan Spencer Chenoweth has been accused of harassment by state police following an argument at an apartment at 7026 Cito Road. Chenoweth allegedly became physical during the 2:55 p.m. dispute with a 22- year- old McConnellsburg woman on Sunday, August 26. Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Man Jailed For Intimidating Witness

Thirty-three-year-old Adin Forrest Daniels of McConnellsburg was arraigned and sent to the Franklin County Prison last Wednesday in lieu of $500,000 bail. Daniels is charged with intimidation of a witness after text messages were sent to a 25-year-old McConnellsburg woman. In the messages Daniels allegedly attempted to coerce the woman to change her statement in connection with a previous altercation between them.

An arrest warrant was issued, according to state police, and Daniels was taken into custody for arraignment.

Two Drivers Injured

Two drivers were injured when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Great Cove Road on Saturday, August 25, according to state police reports.

The 4:15 p.m. accident occurred when Maryland resident Latonya M. Elizabeth attempted to exit Interstate 70 in Warfordsburg and pulled into the path of a southbound 1985 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Paul D. Shives, 68, of Hancock, Md. Elizabeth was operating a 2007 Jeep Compass when the accident happened, police said.

Elizabeth and Shives were both wearing seat belts and required ambulance transport to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Elizabeth will be cited for duties at stop signs.

Hit-And-Run At Family Dollar

An unknown vehicle backed out of a parking space at the Family Dollar store and into the front end of a 1999 Plymouth Neon belonging to a 29-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman. The hit-and-run accident occurred on Friday, August 24, at 7:45 p.m. The victim’s car suffered minor front-end damage, state police reported.

Woman Charged With Harassment

Pennsylvania State Police at the McConnellsburg barracks have charged 42-yearold McConnellsburg resident Michele Eve Lavoie with harassment. On Friday, August 24, Lavoie argued with a 52- year- old McConnellsburg woman. The argument at 1506 Buchanan Trail in Ayr Township allegedly turned physical, leading police to file charges against Lavoie.

Warfordsburg Man Sentenced

Thirty-one-year-old Warfordsburg area resident Michael Adam Deneen was recently sentenced by Magistrate Kermit Ambrose, according to reports from The Morgan Messenger. Reports indicate Deneen was sentenced to one-year probation and $191 in fees for possession of a controlled substance.

One Cited In Altercation

Pennsylvania State Police from McConnellsburg have cited 42- year- old Harrisonville resident Jason Scott Cornett with harassment. On Friday, August 24, a 7 p.m. a verbal dispute beat tween a 21-year- old Harrisonville woman and Cornett turned physical. The alleged harassment occurred at 512 King Road in Taylor Township.

Police File Harassment Charges

An argument turned physical on Monday, August 27, leading to charges of harassment against Joseph Lee Jones, 33, of McConnellsburg, state police said. The alleged dispute between Jones and a 36-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman occurred at 211 South Seventh Street in McConnellsburg Borough at 12:10 p.m.

Hustontown Man Cited For Harassment

State police have charged a Hustontown man with harassment in connection with a fight that occurred on Monday, August 27. Fifty-threeyear old Albert Joseph Pittman is accused of holding a 49-year-old Hustontown woman on the floor of a home located at 320 North Fourth Street, Hustontown. Charges in the incident that took place from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.

Prescription Pills Reported Stolen

Various prescription pills valued at $70 were stolen from 211 South Seventh Street on Monday, August 27, at 2:30 p.m., according to state police reports. Victim in the theft is a 61-year-old McConnellsburg man. Anyone having further information linked to this case is asked to call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485- 3131.

Truck Rear-Ended On I-70

An Imler, Pa., man escaped harm when his eastbound 2005 Ford F-350 was struck from behind along Interstate 70 on Thursday, August 16.

According to state police, the truck driven by James E. Berkheimer, 33, was rearended by a 2001 Nissan XTerra operated by Devin P. Doherty, 19, of Kewadin, Mich., when Berkheimer slowed for traffic ahead. Berkheimer and Doherty were both wearing seat belts when the 8 p.m. crash occurred in Bethel Township.
