Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

The weekend weather was great even though we had some bad weather threats.

It was good to see a nice attendance at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday.

Happy birthday wishes to Clara Mae Strait and Kathryn Gordon, September 5; and Tristan Gelvin, September 2.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Linda Vinerette of Fannettsburg, who passed away over the weekend.

We were glad to hear the Fulton County Fair went real well this year. According to the paper, the livestock sale had some nice animals. Congratulations to all the winners.

The children are settled in for the winter months of school. Some of the children said they were anxious to get back with their friends as well as classes. School eyars are their great years, so hope they make and put their best effort to that.

Congratultaions to Ed Keefer on the enormous pumpkin he entered at the fair that took first prize.

The reports are there will be some drastic changes for som eof the folks up on the turn entering into Hustontown when they decide to change the turn going toward Clear Ridge.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all who might be in harm’s way of the hurricane in Louisiana and the Southern states.

Household Hint: recycle for microwave. Save the microwave safe plastic containers taht some frozen foods come in. They’re great for heating individual portins of any food in the microwave and you can put them in the dishwasher.
