Warfordsburg Man Sentenced
A 29-year-old Warfordsburg man was sentenced to one day in jail in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol. The Morgan Messenger located in West Virginia reported Jeremy Lee Woolford will also pay $534 in fines and fees. He was also sentenced to six months probation and ordered to pay an additional $191 in fees for possession of a controlled substance.
Police Called About Man In Underwear
Pennsylvania State Police from the McConnellsburg substation were dispatched to the Warfordsburg Exit of Interstate 70 on Saturday, August 11, regarding a man lying in the grass wearing only his underwear.
Police said upon their arrival at 6:50 a.m., 26-year-old Warfordsburg area resident Andrew Robert Skidmore was located. Police noted that Skidmore had been given a ride to the adjacent Exxon gas station and subsequently destroyed several flower arrangements outside the business. He was also loud and boisterous, police said.
Skidmore was arrested on a probation violation and transported to Fulton County Medical Center for observation due to his abnormal words and actions. He is being charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in connection with the incident.
Credit Card Used
A credit card belonging to a 37-year-old Big Cove Tannery man was used to make several unauthorized purchases on Saturday, August 4. Anyone having further information linked to this case of access-device fraud should contact state police Trooper Doriguzzi at 717-485-3131.
Car Strikes Tree
A McConnellsburg man suffereed minor injuries when his northbound 2012 Nissan Altima struck a tree along Breezy Point Road.
According to state police, Hobert E. Hann’s car slid on the wet Licking Creek Township roadway on Friday, August 17. The car struck a tree on the eastern berm at 7:26 p.m. Hann was wearing a seat belt and will be charged by state police for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Teens Under The Influence
Two Warfordsburg teenagers suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate after they were thrown from a Huzhou Daixi Trike on Sunday, August 19.
State police reported a 16-year-old male failed to negotiate a curve along Harmonia Road between midnight and 2:28 a.m. The vehicle travelled off the Union Township roadway and struck several trees. The driver and his passenger, a 15-year-old boy, were thrown from the Trike.
Police said both individuals were under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred. Charges will be filed against both boys as the investigation continues.
Man Flown From Accident Scene
A Rockford, Minn., man suffered major injuries during a single-vehicle accident along Big Cove Tannery Road on Tuesday, August 7. According to state police, Jeffrey P. McCracken was flown from the 2:30 p.m. crash scene in Thompson Township.
McCracken,53, was injured when he lost control of his southbound Ducati EVO 1100SP while rounding a lefthand curve in the roadway. The motorcycle went off the road and travelled through a field for approximately 75 feet.
Cited For Assault
Thirty-three-year-old Adin Forrest Daniels, of McConnellsburg, faces charges of simple assault and harassment following a verbal altercation on Wednesday, Auttempted gust 15. State police said Daniels argued with a 25- year-old McConnellsburg, woman at 2:58 p.m. at an Estate Drive, McConnellsburg, residence. Daniels allegedly physically assaulted the woman, police added. Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Chambersburg Woman Charged With Trespassing
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have charged a Franklin County women with criminal trespassing and harassment after an incident on Sunday, August 19, at 229 Reservoir Road.
State police reported 57- year-old Chambersburg resident Sandra Lee Foor allegedly arrived at the location in Todd Township after having been given a notice against trespassing. Foor reportedly shoved a 44-yearold McConnellsburg woman during the 6:45 p.m. incident.
Theft From Motor Vehicle Investigated
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg recently investigated a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred along Route 913 just one mile from the village of Waterfall.
Police said thieves broke the passenger-side front window of a vehicle belonging to a 19-year-old man from Riddlesburg, Pa., on Monday, August 13. Between 4:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., 20 pounds of aluminum and a cot were stolen from the vehicle. The total loss has been estimated at $42. Bad Checks Written
Two bad checks were allegedly penned by a 23-yearold Mount Union, Pa., man between May 25 and May 30, state police in McConnellsburg said. Victim in the case is the McConnellsburg branch of Community State Bank of Orbisonia.
Front-End Loader Vandalized
A Caterpillar 980B frontend loader stored on the 1300 block of Johnstons Drive in McConnellsburg was recently vandalized. The mischief is believed to have occurred between 3 p.m. on July 28 and 7:49 p.m. on August 4. Victim is a 64-yearold male. Charged With Underage Drinking
A Hustontown man faces charges of careless driving and underage drinking, Pennsylvania State Police reported last week.
Twenty-year-old Troy H. Ramsey was travelling westbound along East Dutch Corner Road on August 12 when his 1994 Saturn SC2 travelled onto the northern berm. The vehicle went into a ditch and struck a tree.
Police said the vehicle was removed from the ditch and parked on the northern berm of East Dutch Corner Road. Ramsey allegedly left the scene in another vehicle. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Car Hits Barrier
A Warfordsburg woman will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic following a single-vehicle accident along Route 30.
According to state police reports, 49-year-old Laura Ann Diehl lost control of her westbound 1994 Geo Prizm on August 14 while rounding a curve in the Licking Creek Township roadway. The car went off the road and struck a concrete barrier before travelling into a creek bed.
Diehl was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries as did her passenger, Charlotte Elizabeth Colledge, 28, of Everett.
A 47-year-old Warfordsburg area woman informed state police investigators burglars attempted to pry open the front door of her 14959 Buck Valley Road home on Wednesday, August 15. The attempted burglary occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Anyone having additional information pertinent to this case is asked to call state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.
A Needmore man will be cited for following too closely after he rear-ended another motorist on Thursday, August 16, along Great Cove Road.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg stated a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 18-yearold Brent James Younker rear-ended a 1996 Buick Regal Grand Sport at 7:30 a.m. Police said the Buick was operated by Brandon Garrett Eader, who had slowed for another vehicle stopping in front of him in Bethel Township.
Younker and Eader were both wearing seat belts and escaped harm. Younker’s vehicle was disabled as a result of the damage.
A northbound 2002 Jeep Liberty hit a white-tailed deer along Sinoquipe Road on Friday, August 17. State police said Chrystal J. Neil, 36, of Three Springs, was not injured during the 6:10 a.m. accident in Dublin Township. She was wearing a seat belt.
Three tires on a vehicle parked at 501 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, were slashed between 7:30 p.m. on August 15 and 8:30 a.m. on August 16. Victim is a 54- year- old McConnellsburg woman. A 14-year-old male from McConnellsburg has been charged with harassment in connection with an incident at 28 Gerald Circle in Ayr Township. State police said the juvenile allegedly became physical with a 32-year-old McConnellsburg woman during an argument on Friday, August 17, at 5:10 p.m. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Harassment Charges To Be Filed
Charges of harassment are slated to be filed against 22-year-old McConnellsburg resident Hakeem Lowery Jefferson, according to state police reports. Jefferson allegedly hit and shoved a 20- year- old McConnellsburg woman at 4:10 p.m. The harassment occurred at 320 North Fourth Street in Mc- Connellsburg.
Vehicle Hits Guiderail
A westbound 2008 Dodge Durango crashed into a guiderail along Route 30 in Licking Creek Township on Sunday, August 19. State police said Peter J. Needham of McConnellsburg was not injured in the crash on the Brush Creek Township line at 12:15 p.m. He was wearing a seat belt and will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic. The Durango was removed from the scene by Fischer’s Towing.
Bar Faces Liquor Violation
The Mountain House Bar and Grill located at 18734 Lincoln Highway, Mc- Connellsburg, faces liquor law violations for alleged infractions that occurred on multiple dates between December 20, 2011, and May 2. The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported that on 10 occasions employfultoncountynews. ees sold alcoholic beverages on credit.
A Wells Tannery man suffereed minor injuries while riding in a car along Enid Mountain Road in Broad Top Township, Bedford County.
Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford reported earlier this month Joshua Winter, 19, of Wells Tannery, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Bunker Hill Road at 12:19 p.m. Winter’s 1999 Pontiac Grand Am struck a utility pole and travelled into a cornfield.
Police said Joshua Winter and passenger Kamaron Winter, 21, also of Wells Tannery, were both wearing seat belts. Only the passenger suffered injuries.
Warfordsburg Man Waives Hearing
Warfordsburg resident Zachary D. Marro, 23, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Bedford County Central Court on August 1. Marro faces charges of simple assault and harassment after he was arrested for slapping and punching a victim in the face approximately four times. The June 27 incident occurred in the parking lot of Fairview Christian Church in Mann Township.
Local Woman Involved In Fatal Crash
Maryland State Police responded to a fatal crash involving an area woman that occurred in Little Orleans, Md., at the intersection of High Germany Road on Saturday afternoon, August 11.
According to reports, 60- year-old Warfordsburg resident Rebecca Geraldine Hess was making a left turn out of the Citgo gas station when her Jeep Cherokee struck a motorcycle driven by Charles Hewitt, 53, of Great Cacapon.
Hewitt and his passenger, Carol Hewitt, 68, were thrown from the motorcycle as it skidded and slid into the Jeep’s driver side. They were killed on impact, police added.
Hess and her passenger, Doris Jean Scott, 76, from Artemas, Pa., were transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center located in Cumberland, Md.
No charges were filed immediately following the crash, but police were continuing to investigate the incident.
Two Men Escape Injury
Two Warfordsburg men were unharmed when their northbound truck rolled onto its side and struck a fence along Great Cove Road.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said 40- year-old Dennis L. Clark was travelling through Belfast Township when he lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado on Monday, August 20. The truck crossed over the eastern berm before rolling over and hitting the fence, police noted. The truck sustained disabling damage to its entire left side.
Clark was wearing a seat belt as was his passenger Eugene C. Ward, 49. Clark will be cited by state police for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Crash Near Quarry Hill Road
Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to a singlevehicle crash along Waterfall Road Monday afternoon.
Police reported Christie K. Dick, 29, of McConnellsburg, lost control of her southbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado at 2:50 p.m. just west of the intersection of Quarry Hill Road. The truck crossed onto the western berm and rolled onto its left side.
The truck was disabled as a result of the damage and was removed from the scene by Lilley’s Towing. Dick was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. She will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Hit-And-Run At Medical Center
An unknown vehicle backed out of a parking stall at Fulton County Medical Center on Monday, August 20 and struck a vehicle belonging to a 62- year- old Three Springs woman. State police reported the victim’s 2012 GMC Terrain came to a final rest facing south in the parking spot, while the unknown vehicle fled the scene at 5:01 p.m.
The unknown vehicle was described by police as being blue in color with silver paint transfer on the front fender. Anyone having additional information concerning this hit- and- run accident is asked to call state police Trooper Watkins at 717-485- 3131.
