Personnel Decisions Top Forbes Road Agenda
The Forbes Road School District’s board of directors held a 30- minute regular meeting last Monday evening after holding a 50-minute executive session for personnel reasons.
During the regular meeting, the following personnel decisions were unanimously approved: Kara Snyder was hired for the elementary paraprofessional position at the rate of $9 per hour for 180 days; Danielle Suders was hired for the high school paraprofessional position for a one year, part-time position at the rate of $9 per hour with no benefits; Glenda Mellott was hired as cafeteria manager at the salary of $28,000 effective the 2012-13 school year; Heather Salisbury (social studies/English) was added to the teacher substitute list; tenure for Sharon Bakner, Stephanie Beckner, Kayla Cromer, Corey Doyle and Cynthia Robinette was approved; and mentors assigned were Christie Daniels for Amanda Brown, Heather Hand for Terri Grissinger and Jason Horton for Brittney Shaffer.
During other business, the board approved Rick and Anita Bolinger to transport the 2012-13 field trips at the rate of $1.90 per mile and $7.25 per hour layover rate. Snyder Bus Lines was approved to transport to “away” sporting events for the 2012-13 school year at the rate of $1.90 per mile and $7.25 per hour layover rate.
The board approved a request from the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) to use the Lions Club fields from August 1 through November 15 from 5-9 p.m.
Resident school privileges were approved for a student for the 2012-13 school year.
The board also voted to eliminate one period per week of guidance class for the eightth grade in 2012-13 and the class will be covered in ninth grade.
The board also received updates on the Vo-Tech, maintenance, elementary school, high school and the district.
