Our sympathy is extended to the family of Carol Doyle of Shade Gap. Carol was a former employee of the Southern Huntingdon School District. Our prayers go out to her family.

Chet and Alice Clark and Gene and Tracy Cornelius were some of the local folks who traveled to Washington, D.C., this weekend to the Mets vs. Nationals games in support of local player Josh Edgin.

Congratulations to Deb Snyder, who came home with several ribbons from the Fulton County Horse Show last Sunday. When you see Deb congratulate her as this was her very first show, but not her last. We are all so very proud of you, Deb!

Penn Central Physical Therapy Inc. is welcoming back John Puskarich, PT, and owner to our community. Please send up prayers for travel mercies as he will be traveling from his home in Rhode Island to Orbisonia on a weekly basis while Marybeth takes some needed time to be with her family.

Steve and Karen Grissinger and Tammy Martin visited with Dolores, Mike, Patti, Chris and Kevin Pintozzi in Little Egg Harbor, N.J., this past weekend. They also visited with Steve, Sue, Ben and Robyn Haines of Tuckerton. The group enjoyed a boat ride in the Great Bay, and Karen had a great time going crabbing for the first time in her life.

Recent visitors with Steve, Karen and Terri Grissinger were Kevin Fleck, Buzz and Bea Covert, Traci and Tanner Fields, Dan Jenakovich, Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, and Tammy and Ramon Martin.

Enjoying Sesame Place and other sites in the Philadelphia area this weekend were Patty Varano and Benny, Boston, Branson and Montana Stallman.

Good luck to teachers and students headed back to school this week. Also, be cautious when traveling of buses making stops for students. Prayers go out for another great school year.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will have an open stage August 25 beginning at 6 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m. Come out and share your talent or the talent of others.
