The week started off with showers, but it was pretty nice weather for the Fulton County Fair.

It was off to school this Monday morning for school children.

Happy birthday wishes to Shawn Berkstresser, who had a special day August 27. Also to Gary Torcasco, August 19; Aaron Koons, August 11; Michael Torcasco, August 25; and Dylan Gelvin, August 26.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage Saturday, August 25, at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Go for supper and enjoy the evening and also support the fire company. Everyone is welcome to come and share their talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. Admission is free. A good time is had by all, and you are helping your fire company, which they appreciate.

Hustontown High School Class of 1958 reunion will beheld at Hustontown Firehall Saturday, September 8. Social hour will start at 5 p.m. and buffet dinner at 6 p.m. For more details, call 987-4742. We hope to see you there.

Jeff Krick will be in concert at the Forbes Road High School auditorium September 15 at 7 p.m. The cafeteria will open at 5 p.m. This awesome concert is sponsored by the Hustontown Fire Co. Fairview United Methodist Church folks will have an ice cream festival Saturday, September 8, at 4 p.m. “Visitors from the Past,” with Luelle Kreiger, will be at Knobsville United Methodist Church Sunday, September 9, at 7 p.m.

Household Hint: Stock up on stock. Keep a plastic pitcher in the freezer. After potatoes are finished boiling or vegetables are finished steaming add their water to the pitcher. Then when you want to make soup, you’ve got your vegetable broth all ready in the freezer.
