David K. Hixon
He was born May 11, 1937, in Buck Valley, Fulton County, Pa., the son of the late Clive and Lily Ritz Hixon. He was the husband of Ethel Pedrick Hixon, whom he married on June 24, 1967.
He was a member of Buck Valley Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Kathryn (wife of Scott) Dunklebarger of Warfordsburg; Janet (wife of Gene) Dixon of Mechanicsburg; Amy (wife of Josh) Wagner of Camp Hill; his sister and brother, Kathryn Robinette of Dundalk, Md., and Kenneth Hixon of Warfordsburg, as well as five grandchildren: Tobin Dunklebarger, Karis and Keith Dixon, and Nolan and Brayden Wagner.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Hixon.
He was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School in 1954 and Penn State University in 1958. He served in the Army Reserve from 1959 to 1965. He taught school in Rising Sun and Hancock, as well as the Fairview School in Amaranth, Pa. He was the coowner and operator with his brother Kenneth of Ritz Brothers Store in Buck Valley. He enjoyed farming, bluegrass music and travel.
Funeral services were held at Buck Valley Christian Church Monday, August 13, at 11 a.m. Interment was at the BVCC cemetery. Rev. Scott Gibbs officiated.
