Lincoln Highway Bus Trip Planned
The Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor (and no one knows the Lincoln Highway like we do!) is sponsoring a one-day bus trip along the historic Lincoln Highway from Chambersburg to Columbia (and back) on Saturday, September 22, 2012. The trip will be guided by Dr. Fred Gantz, adjunct professor at Harrisburg Area Community College. Dr. Gantz will share little known facts about this country’s first coast-tocoast route.
The day begins with a tour of the historic 1948 Shoe House, in Hellam, Pa. Along with lunch at Prudhomme’s in Columbia, a tour will be made of the circa 1814 First National Bank Museum and the National Clock and Watch Museum. The final stop will be at the Turkey Hill Experience.
The bus will depart from Chambersburg, at 8:30 a.m. and Gettysburg at 9 a.m. and return by 6:30 p.m.
Call 724-879-4241 to make reservations. Or visit www.LHHC.org to pay online. The travel package ($80 per person) includes the guided tours of the Shoe House and First National Bank Museum as well as admission to the Turkey Hill Experience, the National Clock and Watch Museum and a scrumptious lunch.
