Hill Receives Award, New Assignment


Lt. Gen. Duane Thiessen, commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific, awards Lt. Col. Curtis Hill the Meritorious Service Medal (fourth award) for superior performance of his duties while serving as the director of public affairs for MARFORPAC from June 2010 to July 2012. Lt. Gen. Curtis Hill the Meritorious Service Medal (fourth award) for superior performance of his duties while serving as the director of public affairs for MARFORPAC from June 2010 to July 2012. Lt. Col. Curtis Hill was awarded his fourth Meritorious Service Medal June 26 by Lt. Gen. Duane Thiessen in a ceremony held at U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific headquarters in Camp Smith, Hawaii.

Hill had served as the director of public affairs for MARFORPAC since June 2010 after serving four years as the director of public affairs at II Marine

Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejeune, N.C.

On July 31, Hill reported for his new assignment as director of the Marine Corps Motion Picture and Television Liaison Office in Hollywood, Calif.

Hill is the son of Herman and Verla Hill of Needmore and is married to the former Lauren Kelly, originally from Dallas, Texas.
