Frederick M. Campbell
Frederick M. Campbell, 85, Huntingdon, died at 3:15 a.m., Sunday, July 22, 2012, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Huntingdon, surrounded by his son and daughterin law.
Born January 16, 1927, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Walter E. ad Rachel (Fox) Campbell. He was united in marriage to the former Janet Weyant May 1, 1963, in Calvin. She preceded him in death February 1, 1989.
He is survived by his children: Carol Campbell, Mount Union; Bill Campbell and his wife, Kerri, Huntingdon, and Holly Campbell; four grandchildren: Travis W. Campbell, who is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps; Scott Wise, Benjamin Parshalla nd Cassie Parshall; and two great-grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy DeArmitt and David Campbell, both of Alexandria; Laura Kifer, Huntingdon; Edith Everhart and her spouse of Hustontown; and Lottie Dick and her spouse of Petersburg.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam Wise; two brothers: John R. Campbell and Reuben Campbell; and two sisters: Anna M. Campbell and Jennie Smith.
He was drafted into the United States Army and served as a corporal from April 8, 1953, through April 7, 1955.
He retired from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., and spent much of his life farming and working at Laney’s Feed Mill, Huntingdon.
He enjoyed carp fishing and raising pigeons.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon. Rev. Art Speck officiated. Interment was in McConnellstown Cemetery.
