Douglas E. Everhart
Douglas Eugene “Dougie” Everhart, 38, Hustontown, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 28, 2012.
Born March 18, 1974, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Marie and Kenneth Waite and the late Ralph D. Everhart.
He was a Forbes Road High School student, class of 1992, and later attained his GED.
He worked in masonry/ construction.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing ball with his beloved 3-year-old nephew, Ean, who adored him. He loved computers and playing computer games with Ean and teaching him computer skills. He was also teaching Ean the basics of artwork. He enjoyed spending time with his sister and nephew, going to yard sales, museums and dining out. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and attending concerts and playing music. He loved playing the drums. He was a gifted artist, and collected anything with artwork. He also had a passion for rescuing animals.
He was a kind, gentle and thoughtful person, always there for his family and many friends, always helpful to a stray animal, and always looking out for the environment.
He is survived by his parents, Marie and Kenny Waite, and a sister, Lena Renee Everhart; a nephew, Ean Mathew Ritchey, all of Hustontown, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John F. House and Lena M. House of Cumberland, Md., and his paternal grandfather, Homer E. Everhart of Berkeley Springs.
Arrangements for cremation were made by M. R. Brown Funeral home, Hustontown. A private service will be held at a later date.
Donations in his honor can be made to any animal rescue no-kill facility.
