Man Set Afire In Robbery Dies In PA Burn Center
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man who was robbed and then set on fire in his garage a week ago has died at a Pittsburgh burn center.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office says 38-year- old Vincent Bloom was pronounced dead at 7:13 p.m. Friday at West Penn Burn Center. An autopsy is planned in Cambria County.
Police in West Hills say the victim told police that he was working in his Lower Yoder Township garage on July 19 when two hooded males entered, tied him up, doused him with gasoline and set him afire before fleeing with money.
The victim said he freed himself and doused himself with a garden hose. West Hills Regional Police told WJAC-TV that he had burns on 85 percent of his body.
