Jim Mills has gotten along great after his recent double knee-replacement surgery and appreciates everyone’s visits.

Neal Hall was in an automobile accident on Friday and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Gordon and Donna Locke hosted a family gathering on Sunday for their new granddaughter, Kaylee Locke, daughter of James Locke and Tiffany Moore. Those attending were Greg Locke, Julie Martin and grandchildren Cody and Corrine, Adam, Amanda, Toyrn, Cameron and Brayden Locke, Justin Locke, Ruth Grissinger, Dodie Price, Terri Grissinger, George and Heather Locke and family, and Irene Park.

The Ben Knepper 5K run was well attended on Saturday. Runners included Jim, Lori, Brenden and Holden Lupey, Terri Grissinger and Rick, Kelli and Trinity Grissinger. Trinity enjoyed her very first 5K in the stroller.

Brian, Emily, Micah and Adeline Ramsey visited with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Saturday evening.

Immanuel Bible School pool party will be held this Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Three Springs.

Walnut Grove Church of God held its annual Sunday School Picnic at Cowans Gap State Park. After a great meal, everyone enjoyed some recreational activities that included lots of water balloons and water bottles.

Walnut Grove senior youth group spent last weekend in Ocean City, Md., doing some swimming, sightseeing and plenty of eating. Those enjoying the trip were DJ Stains, Dezaray Swope, Destiny Devlin, Dustin Barr, Steven Mills, Kevin, Lynette and Brianne Fleck, and Joe, Melanie and Dison Myers.

Recent visitors with Steve, Karen and Terri Grissinger were Camden Lupey, Rick, Kelli and Trinity Grissinger, Dan, Kolton and Alayna Gaff, Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Edsel Hamman and Ramon Martin.

Camden and Terri enjoyed a Gator ride until they spotted a coyote with a rabbit headed into the woods. Remmy, the Shih Tzu, is now on limited time outs, literally.

Tom, Mamie and Tim Streightiff and Kenny, Kristi and Jase Waktins and Livy enjoyed last week at Rehoboth Beach. Once Jase got used to the waves, he loved the beach.

Nine ladies from Walnut Grove Church of God Ladies Prayer Group enjoyed a trip to Chambersburg on Saturday with a meal at the AKI Grill and some shopping.

Steve and Karen Grissinger were shopping in Hagerstown on Saturday evening and enjoyed visiting with Mark and Cherry Hale and Tawnie House.

Immanuel Bible Church annual yard sale will be held on August 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Presently 14 families have signed up for the event. There will be a food stand and baked goods for sale.

Shade Gap Picnic is this week and the Huntingdon County Fair begins this Sunday and runs through next Saturday. Where did the summer go?
