Cody Darrah ended a long dry spell on the World of Outlaws tour with his Saturday night win in the Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway.
After two days of rain washed out the Friday night program, drivers were treated with a wet and fast surface on Saturday that produced very little passing, meaning starting spot was vital.
Darrah started on the front row and led all 30 laps for his first WoO win of the season and first since 2009. He also had to withstand a marathon feature that saw four red flags and several more cautions.
Jason Sides, Greg Hodnett, Kraig Kinser and Adam Wilt completed the top-five finishers.
Gene Knaub won Saturday’s 358 Late Model feature at Susquehanna Speedway Park over Chase Billet, Justin Ehrhart, Carl Billet and JR Rodriquez.
Rick Barr picked up the Super Sportsman feature win at SSP over Russ Mitten, and Carmen Perigo Jr.
Jeff Rine captured his 100th career Late Model win Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.
The defending track champion won the 25-lap feature on a night sponsored by his car owner, and he was driving a tribute car in honor of his car owner’s 1980’s racing career. Rine’s 77th career track win came over Jim Yoder, Jim Bernheisel, Donnie Schick and Steve Campbell.
Selinsgrove’s 358 Sprint car feature was postponed due to a midnight curfew because of track conditions.
Lincoln Speedway had its Thursday night Sprint Car Spectacular rained out after five of the six scheduled heat races had been completed. The track is looking at options to reschedule the event.
Trail-Way Speedway was rained out on Friday while Bedford, Hagerstown and Port Royal speedways were all dark from racing this weekend.
