Police Rule Death A Suicide
Pennsylvania State Police and the Fulton County Coroner’s Office investigated the suicide of a Palmerton, Pa., man last Monday along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
State police Trooper Richard Cutchall stated 37- year-old Steven John Fink pulled his westbound 1997 Chevrolet S-10 truck into an asphalt pulloff near mile marker 183.3 in Dublin Township. Between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., Fink attached two sections of flexible aluminum ductwork to the vehicle’s exhaust and placed the opposite end through the rear window and inside the cab, police added.
Coroner Berley Souders pronounced Fink dead at the scene at 7:50 a.m. Cause of death is listed as respiratory failure due to carbon-monoxide poisoning.
State police in McConnellsburg were assisted on the scene by Everett state police, personnel from the Burnt Cabins Turnpike maintenance facility and Metal Township Fire Department.
