Our Town

Ida Strait and Edna Ramsey spent last week in Renfro Valley, Ky. They saw eight shows. They met a lot of the singers and players after the shows. They also visited the Kentucky Hall of Fame, Bittersweet Cabins, and rode the big South Fork scenic railroad through Daniel Boone National Forest in Tennessee. They had a coal miner’s lunch and enjoyed ole’ pickin’ and grinnin’ music and spent a day in Berea, Ky.

Wanda Souders and Deb Welsh recently returned from a tour of Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. They enjoyed visiting the Mall of America, Wall, S.D., John Wayne’s birthplace and the bridges of Madison County.

TheKnobsvilleChurch of the Brethren held its annual Sunday School and church picnic on Sunday at Hustontown Lions Park with a good turnout.

Bruce and Freda Schade of California visited recently with longtime friends Andy and Joyce Washabaugh.

Chris Shelly, Kerin Mc- Cleary of Greencastle and Chris’ daughter, Lesley, and Taureem Spriggs of Philadel- phia were guests of the Mc- Donald family for the wedding of JessieMcDonaldand Dexter Hu in Hong Kong. Lesley was matron of honor in the wedding. They also toured Bali and had an awesome time.

Jeremy and Jenny Gress celebrated their third wedding anniversary on July 18.

The descendants of the late Richard and Madeline McQuait held their annual reunion on Saturday at the EdenvilleCommunityBuilding .

The public sale of Lennie Forner was held over four days last week with a good turnout. Lennie is nowa resident in the long-term-care unit of Fulton County Medical Center.

Congratulations to Jon Fisher and Hannah Reed who weremarried in an outdoor wedding on Saturday atHannah’sparents’ country home inMercersburg.
