Farm Women Tour Bedford County
Members ofFultonCounty Society of Farm Women recently went to neighboring Bedford County to tour some of its attractions.
First stop was at the historic Bedford Springs Resort Hotel. Members went on a self-guided tour of the hotel and checked out the ballroom, the registry of famous U.S. presidents who visited there, the timeline for the restoration of the original hotel, etc., and had lunch in the tavern. Then on to the Museum of the American Coverlet, where they heard and saw how early settlers came to create some beautiful coverlets, of all designs, colors, etc. Then it was on to Founders Crossing for some serious shopping, browsing andtasting of local cuisine, such as a refreshing dish of ice cream at a quaint little ice cream shop.
