Modern Woodmen Of America Donates To BDAL

Rick Claar, financial representative for Modern Woodmen of America, recently donated $2,500 to Better Days Animal League to assist its efforts to provide aid to abandoned, abused and neglected animals in Fulton County.

Modern Woodmen of America is a fraternal benefit society based in Rock Island, Ill., serving more that 760,000 members nationwide. They offer life insurance, annuity, investment and banking products, along with fraternal member benefits for families and their communities.

“It gives me great pleasure to know that this donation is going to such a worthy cause,” states the Bedford-based Claar. “In these difficult economic times, more and more pet owners are unable to care for their animals, creating an even greater challenge for nonprofit organizations such as Better Days.”

A volunteer-based animal rescue organization established in 2007, Better Days has helped rescue and re-home more than 3,000 animals in need. “We’re very grateful to Modern Woodmen for this generous donation,” says Dennis Bumbaugh, executive officer and humane police officer for Better Days. “This is a fine example of corporate goodwill for a nonprofit that addresses critical community needs.”
