Roy S. Pittman Sr. Big Cove Tannery, 65

Roy S. Pittman Sr., 65, Big Cove Tannery, Pa., died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born January 10, 1947, in Big Cove Tannery, the son of the late William and Hazel (Evertts) Pittman Sr.

He was employed as a welder at the Grove Manufacturing and JLG Industries before his retirement.

He enjoyed spending his time fishing and in the outdoors.

He was a member of the VFW in McConnellsburg and the American Legion Post 561. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Deborah Seville; two sons: Roy S. Pittman Jr. and Kenneth A. Pittman, and one daughter, Tina A. Shank; six grandchidren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Pittman Sr.; three brothers: William, John and Isaac and one sister, Elsie Bricker.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Antioch Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, June 20, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Kelso- Cornelius Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery, with the Rev. Dick Bernhard officiating.

The Fulton Honor Guard will provide full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Deborah Seville to defray costs, 3428 Big Cove Tannery Rd., Big Cove Tannery, PA 17212.
