Great weather brought out lots of people to this year’s Strawberry Festival. Besides the usual delicious food treats and craft vendors, the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. teamed up with the festival to present a classic car show plus a fireman’s parade.

The following color contest winners for first-grade and kindergarten students were announced.

Grand prize: Addie Koontz – Fulton County Christian School.

First-place kindergarten: Kaitlin Gregory, Southern Fulton; Jaycie Moody, Central Fulton; McKenzie Golden, Forbes Road; Addie Koontz, Fulton County Christian School.

First-place first grade: Rielle Keefer, Central Fulton; Cindy Mc- Clain, Forbes Road; Chandler Oakman, Fulton County Christian; Jake Golden, Southern Fulton.

Tickle Your Fancy Gift & Tea shop located on Lincoln Way West in McConnellsburg was this year’s winner of the strawberry window decorating contest.

Baby contest winners were as follows: Ryker Snair (11 months) parents Heather and Nathan; and William Guyer Jr. (26 months), parents Bridgett and Bill.

Since there were no challengers this year in the strawberry capping contest, Lisa Truax continues to reign as the ongoing champion.

The three strawberry recipe contest winners were Carla Cardello, Betty Daniels and Erica Doyle.
