Special Olympics Athletes Receive Medals

Special Olympics Pennsylvania Fulton County management is happy to announce the following athletes received medals:

Luther Murray, silver in Division 2 basketball skills.

Jesse Graham, gold in Division 1 basketball skills.

Casey Englert, gold in Division 2 basketball skills.

Kristen Sowers, silver in Division 1 basketball skills.

Manager and coach Mindi Graham said, “Words cannot express how happy I am with each of these athletes. To see how hard they have worked and to overcome their fears, I am truly honored to be working with them.”

Special Olympics Fulton County is looking for volunteers who can help with fundraisers at competitions. They are also in need of an outreach co-ordinator who will assist in finding athletes and spreading news about Special Olympics. If you are interested, please contact Graham at 717-816-5771. Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities; a cognitive delay, or a development disability, that is, functional limitations in both general learning and adaptive skills. Fulton County meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month at the McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends building at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Anyone interested in coaching or volunteering, please contact local manager Graham at 717-816-5771.
