Old House On Third Street Being Torn Down

The last old house on the west side of Third Street is being demolished by the McConnellsburg Fire Co., which has owned the property for about 10 years. According to Fire Chief Larry “Pete” Lynch, the building is now past remodeling. During demolition one section of the old house was discovered to be built from honed logs. Years ago the house was the family home of Maynard “Whitey” and Lois Paylor and more recently the home of the late Howard Fox and wife Sue. The firemen plan to make the space into a recreation area following demolition.
