Wendy L. Fischer, 58, of Warfordsburg, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Fulton County Medical Center, Mc- Connellsburg.
She was born in Roaring Springs, Pa., on October 7, 1953, the daughter of the late William E. and June (Hinish) Imler, who survives her, of Hollidaysburg, Pa.
She was a member of Whips Cove United Church of Christ, Warfordsburg. She worked as a registered nurse at Fulton County Medical Center until 2011. Then she became an assault nurse for the Fulton/Bedford Counties Women in Need. She was also a volunteer nurse for the Fulton County Camp Cadet Program for 18 years.
She was a Penn State fan, a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved the Pirates and Penguins.
She is survived by her son Justin W. Fischer, husband of Gerri of McConnellsburg; daughter Amy D. Fischer of Hagerstown; brother Brad W. Imler, husband of Barbara of New Enterprise; nephew Bill Imler of New Enterprise; and niece Katie Yorke, wife of Jared of Greencastle; and a grandson, Levi J. Ramsey, Morgantown, W.Va.
Funeral services were held at Whips Cove United Church of Christ, Warfordsburg, at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 10. Pastor Gene Harding officiated. Interment was private.
Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
