Wayne A. Younker Needmore, 75

Wayne A. Younker, 75, Needmore, died Thursday June 7, 2012, at his home.

Born August 23, 1936, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Edgar and Bessie Younker Shives.

He was employed as a truck driver.

He was a member of Weslyan Chapel in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

He is survived by his wife, Alice I. Mills Younker, whom he married March 5, 1954, in Hagerstown, Md; one son, Wayne Younker Jr. of Needmore; four daughters: Teresa Whittaker of Clear Spring, Md.; Bonnie Unger of Hancock; Sandy Wills of Needmore; Michelle Gunnell of Warfordsburg; one brother, Marshall Younker; three sisters: Phyllis Jenson, Virginia Reiff and Laverne Barney; grandchildren April Hiller, Lance Younker, Desirae Ulsh, Chelsea Unger, Allison Wills, Garett Unger; great-grandchildren Lane Younker, Jacob Younker, Lydia, Jillian and Mia Hiller.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Bonnie Gordon and Lorraine Mills; brothers Dick Shives, Donald Younker, Homer and, Bob Shives; and son-in-law, Kim Whittaker.

Services were held Monday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at Weslyan Chapel. Rev. William Swope officiated. Burial was at the convenience of the family.

Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, was in charge of arrangements.
