George and Heather Locke visited with Greg Locke in Georgia last week.

Walnut Grove Church of God will hold its annual chicken barbecue Sunday, June 24, following worship services at the fellowship building. Everyone is invited to attend.

Huldah and Betty Streightiff visited with Tom and Mamie Streightiff on Sunday and attended the Immanuel Bible Church “School’s Out Carnival” to watch little Jase Watkins in action. Jase loved the bouncy balloon along with his buddy, Camden Lupey.

Recent visitors with Steve, Karen and Terri Grissinger were Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Travis Madden, and Ramon and Tammy Martin.

Steve and Karen Grissinger visited with George and Charles Harper at a drawing in Broad Top on Saturday. They were happy to report the car show during the Three Springs carnival was very well attended with more than 60 cars participating.

The annual Ben Knepper 5K run will be held Saturday, July 28, at Center United Methodist Church. Please support this scholarship run in Ben’s memory. Registrations are being accepted now or on the day of the run.

Three Springs Fire Co. will host this year’s Firemen’s Convention during the week of July 8-14. Please support the fire company during this busy week of activities.

Gardens that were flooded on Monday were in need of a drink by Saturday. Haymakers were busy everywhere this weekend as gorgeous hay-making weather arrived in our area.

Raspberries will be ready by the end of the week, near- ly two weeks earlier than other years, and the peas are ready to pick. Yes, summer may officially arrive next week, but for all area school children it is summer now.

Don’t forget Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 17. Happy Father’s Day, fellows!
