F.C. Americans Capture Chambersburg Suburban Invitational Tournament

Fulton County Americans Pony League team captured the annual Chambersburg Suburban Invitational Tournament held last week at Greenvillage. The Americans were 3-0 in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 33-6 and out-hitting their opponents 32- 10.

The Americans defeated Mercersburg on Wednesday night 13-2. Justin Welsh picked up the win with Landon Richards, Aaron Schepis and Dylan Gordon pitching the remaining three innings. Dylan Everts was 3 for 3 for the Americans and Dylan Gordon went 2 for 3. Justin Welsh and Landon Richards also added hits for the Americans.

On Thursday evening, the Americans defeated Shippensburg Black 9-2. Dylan Everts picked up the win, allowing only two hits and striking out three. Justin Barnard and Chase Novak combined to pitch the remaining three innings without allowing a base runner and striking out seven Shippensburg batters. At the plate, Novak went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs, while Justin Barnard and Aaron Schepis added two hits each. Landon Richards, Dylan Everts and Justin Welsh also had hits.

Sunday’s championship game featured the Americans squaring off against the Big Springs Dawgs. Justin Barnard picked up the win and Dylan Gordon pitched the final two innings to shut down the Dawgs. Dylan Everts blasted a 2-run homer in the first inning that put the Americans ahead 3-1. Justin Barnard, Dylan Gordon and Justin Welsh each went 3 for 4, while Landon Richards (2 hits), Chase Novak (2 hits) and Quintin Miller added hits for the Americans.

The Americans captured the championship with an 11-2 victory.
