Pa. Woman, 90, Rescued From Burning House
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) – A good Samaritan has rescued a 90-year-old woman from the second floor of her burning home in Chester.
KYW-TV reports that Inez Jones was pulled to safety from her burning house at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday after neighbors began asking if anyone had seen her.
Kenneth Wharton, a passerby who saw the smoke, ran inside the twostory home and got Jones out before firefighters arrived. The house was engulfed in flames from a fire that started on the first floor.
Neighbors are calling Wharton a hero for saving Jones. Says Wharton, “She deserves it. She deserves to live another day.’’
