Needmore Man Charged With DUI
A 25-year-old Needmore man faces charges of driving under the influence following a crash along Possum Hollow Road over the weekend.
Pennsylvania State Police from the McConnellsburg barracks responded to a 3:43 a.m. accident on the 1000 block of the Licking Creek Township roadway on Saturday, May 19. The driver of the vehicle, Joshua Leonard Mellott, was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Charges are slated to be filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.
Gift Cards Stolen On Lions Park Dr.
Twenty-five dollar gift cards to Red Lobster and the Olive Garden were stolen from 375 Lions Park Drive, McConnellsburg, on Thursday, May 17, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Victim of the theft is an 81-year-old female from McConnellsburg. Collision Occurs Behind School Bus
A three-vehicle crash occurred behind a stopped school bus along Pitt Street in the village of Hustontown last Thursday morning, state police said.
Reports state that 18- year-old Hustontown resident Erin Lynn McQuait failed to stop in time for traffic that was at a standstill at 7:53 a.m. McQuait’s northbound 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier struck the rear of a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 16-year-old girl, also from Hustontown. The impact, police added, caused the Cruze to be pushed into the rear of a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta operated by Jason Carl Carbaugh, 32, of McConnellsburg.
The juvenile and Carbaugh were both wearing seat belts and escaped injury. McQuait was not using a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.
McQuait’s car was towed from the scene by Tin Man Auto Body and assistance was given on- site by the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. McQuait is slated to receive several traffic citations in connection with the May 17 crash.
Three Vehicles On Pleasant Ridge Rd. Targeted By Thieves
Three vehicles parked on the 12000 block of Pleasant Ridge Road in Licking Creek Township were targeted by thieves between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Monday, May 21.
State police said multiple items were stolen from the vehicles including an IPod, a nylon case containing compact discs and a Pennsylvania Access card. Victims of the theft include a 41-year-old male and a 20- year-old woman, both from Harrisonville.

Cyclist Injured In McConnellsburg Accident
A McConnellsburg man was taken to Fulton County Medical Center on Saturday, May 12, for treatment of injuries suffered during an accident on the 100 block of West Walnut Street in Mc- Connellsburg Borough.
Richard David Wallace, 28, was subsequently released from the hospital following the 6:25 p.m. collision, state police in McConnellsburg said. He will be charged in connection with the accident.
The crash occurred, reports indicate, while Wallace was operating a westbound “pedal cycle” on West Walnut Street. While making a right-hand turn onto First Street Wallace reportedly collided with a vehicle driven by Henry Paul Isban, 71, also of McConnellsburg.
Police did not say if Wallace was wearing a helmet or if Isban suffered any injuries.
