Homer L. Ansell Fort Littleton, 79

Homer Lewis Ansell, 79, Fort Littleton, died at 7:25 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at his home in Dublin Township, Fulton County.

Born December 3, 1932, in Uniontown, Westmoreland County, he was the son of the late George and Madeline (Guth) Ansell. He was married to Judith Shields Henry on June 30, 1995. She survives at their home.

He is survived by a daughter, Julie Doyle, and husband James, RD, Blairs Mills, Pa., along with two stepchildren: Tammy Henry DiBenigno and husband Giuseppe, Great Falls, Va., and Eddie Henry Jr. and wife Melissa, Hustontown; two grandchildren: Allise Suchan and Jeremy Doyle and seven step- grandchildren: Brandon Mellott, Brandon, Tanner, Bohen, Caden and Regan Henry and Sofia DiBenigno; three great-grandchildren: Ashlynne Suchan, Andon Suchan, Mattielynne Suchan nd two step-greatgrandchildren: McCellen Mellott and Mashaea Sowers; and one sister, Betty Warthin, survives of Forbes Trail Road, McConnellsburg.

Hewas preceded in death by five brothers: Clarence, Don, Floyd, Carl and John Ansell.

He attended Walnut Grove Church of God, RD, Three Springs.

A member of the Mercersburg VFW, he was a U..S Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952-1960 as a gunner’s mate and serving with the U.S. Navy in the Seabees during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969, where he received the Distinguished Service Medal.

Having retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, he was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542, Harrisburg.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Walnut Grove Church of God. Alann Schmidt officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Three Springs. Fulton Honor Guard provided military graveside services.

M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, was in charge of arrangements.
