Three Springs Firemen/Lions To Hold Homecoming

The Three Springs Firemen Lions Homecoming carnival will be held beginning Thursday, May 24-27.

On Thursday, May 24, the 23rd annual firemen’s parade will begin at 7 p.m. The formation of the parade will be along Hudson Street, next to Jan’s Family Restaurant. The parade route will be Hudson Street, starting at Jan’s and ending at the Three Springs swimming pool parking lot. Anyone wanting to be a participant in the parade – marching units and floats, please call Jamie Rhodes at 814-599- 0304. Fire companies and ambulance associations should contact David Grace at 814-448-2596. After the parade, entertainment will be provided by the Sugar Ridge Band and a magic show by Hubie the Clown.

The Sharptones will provide a variety of music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25.

On Saturday, May 26, the 20th annual car show will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. at the swimming poolparking lot. Music from the 50s and 60s will be played at the car show. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 vehicles to register. Call Harold Harper at 814-448- 3832 or Charles Harper at 814-448-3775 for more information.

A chicken barbecue will begin at 11 a.m. at the firehall. A Little League baseball tournament will begin at 10:30 a.m. At 3 p.m. the Little Miss Princess Contest will begin at the tabernacle. The teenage Fire Queen Contest will be held at 4 p.m. The Fabulous Flashbacks, a 50s/60s band, will be the featured entertainment from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Sunday, May 27, a community worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the tabernacle. A hot roast turkey dinner will be available immediately following the service. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. The Old Friends Band will provide a gospel music program from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A firemen’s memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. The Old Friends Band will perform after the service until 9 p.m. Ride tickets will be available nightly. Armbands will be sold and honored from 6 p.m. until closing on Friday and Saturday evening.

All proceeds benefit Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. and the Three Springs Lions Club.
