Sixth-Grade Students Raise More Than $750 For Relay For Life
During their character education class with teacher Denise Mellott, 23 sixth- grade students joined together to raise $756.06 to help find a cure for cancer. During this nine-week course the students made posters, collected plastic bottle caps and asked for donations for the Relay for Life – American Cancer Society.
One student, Molly Crouse, took this class challenge very seriously and raised $317 on her own. Molly worked hard visiting businesses and individuals to collect money for this worthwhile cause.
As a culminating activity the class walked in a mini-relay during school on Friday, May 18, and then celebrated their hard work with pizza and ice cream. This group of students truly went above and beyond in raising money and doing their part to find a cure for cancer.
