DNA Links Pa. Man Yo Wife’s Death
YORK, Pa. (AP) – Two forensic scientists have presented evidence in a murder trial that prosecutors said implicates a central Pennsylvania man in his wife's slaying.
Fifty-five-year-old Brian Hummert is on trial in York County for the March 2004 death of 48-year-old Charlene Hummert.
Angelina Biondi of the state police crime lab in Greensburg testified Friday that DNA evidence found on Charlene Hummert's body and clothing matches her husband.
Another expert testified that dirt found on the victim matched soil on the couple's property in Fairview Township.
Prosecutors allege Brian Hummert strangled his wife of 22 years and left her body in the back of her car in a supermarket lot. They say Hummert then wrote letters to a newspaper claiming to be a serial killer and claiming responsibility for her death
