Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

We had a beautiful weekend and then the rain arrived. High temperatures are predicted for later in the week.

Some folks spent Sunday at the home of Bobbie and Pam Plante and sons in Urban, Md. They were Heidi Peck and children, Brooke Sheeder, Karen Bennett, Bobbie and Caryn Bennett and children, Sandra Holtz and children, and Harvey, Pat and Kate Berkstresser.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage Saturday evening, May 26, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. and admission is free. Everyone is welcome to attend and share talents. A good way to enjoy an evening and the talent of others. We hope to see you there.

A food auction will be held Saturday, June 2 sponsored by Hustontown Fire Co. It will begin at 2 p. m. The kitchen opens at noon. A wide variety of items will be offered for sale. The vendor will be Mike Sullivan. Come out and support the fire company.

Herbie and Tammy Berkstresser spent the weekend in Baltimore at a bow shooting tournament.

Happy birthday wishes to Michaela Mundorff May 21 and James Bennett May 30.

I wish to thank everyone for the cards and gifts for my birthday.

Household Hint: Bacon wont’ curl up while cooking if you put it in ice-cold water before frying it. Just dip it for about five seconds, pat dry with paper towel, pop it in the pan. You’ll get nice flat bacon.
