Local Man Headed To County Court
Carl Jonathan Stallman, who has previously resided in the Hustontown and Wells Tannery areas, was arrested by the Hollidaysburg Borough Police Department on April 25. Bail in the case has been set at $50,000.
Charges against the 23-yearold man include first-degree felony counts of criminal attempt involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with serious bodily injury and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with serious bodily injury as well as first-degree misdemeanors corruption of minors and obscene and other sexual materials. The case was filed through Magisterial District Judge Paula M. Aigner.
Charges against Stallman were bound over or waived to the Blair County Court of Common Pleas by a magisterial district judge on Tuesday, May 8. Formal arraignment in the Court of Common Pleas has tentatively been scheduled for June 15.
Arresting officer Mark E. Lingafelt stated in an affidavit of probable cause the alleged incident involving Stallman occurred between May 2007 and August 2008. While residing at 214 Ella Street, Hollidaysburg, Stallman allegedly attempted to have a “sexual encounter” with a 5-yearold child.
Stallman, the affidavit said, showed an adult video to the juvenile. Stallman then reportedly propositioned the child who did not comply with Stallman’s request and was able to get away from him, Lingafelt said in the charging documents.
