Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

After a beautiful weekend the week has started out with some much-needed showers.

The Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor its annual Mother’s Day smorgasbord Sunday, May 13, at 11 a.m., featuring six meats, stuffing, gravies, variety of vegetables, salads, desserts and beverages. Treat that special lady to a great day. Adults are $10 and children 5-10 are $5, and under 4 years of age are free. A good place to take mother for dinner. We hope to see you there.

Happy birthday to Zoe Cutchall, May 1; Jodi Vick, May 2; Carol Cline, May 3; Trudy Gelvin, May 5; Nikole Gelvin, Brandon Fletcher, Judy Waters and Alice Chesnut, May 6; Harriet Hill and Rheon Gelvin, May 8; McKenzie Spade, May 10; Harper Cline, Deb King and Kristina Parsons, May 11; Kate Berkstresser, May 15; Michaela Mundorf, May 21 and Joan Kuhn, May 24.

Fairview United Methodist Church folks will hold a chicken barbecue on Saturday evening, May 19, at 4 p.m.

Sympathy is extended to the Florence Helman family, and also to the Sandy Rouzer family.

Beverly St. Clair and Lindsey visited Kate Berkstresser on Sunday evening.

Robert Chesnut visited with his parents, Jim and Alice Chesnut, on Sunday and also attended Knobsville United Methodist Church with his mother on Sunday.

Household Hint: pantyhose care. Prolong wear by washing and wringing pantyhose out, placing in a plastic bag and putting in the freezer. After they freeze, thaw and hang to dry for longer wear.
